Antique Chinese lapis bottle, with detailed carvings of a beautiful woman in flowing robes standing beside a small boy holding a peach, who appears to be handing the woman a leaf. The flip side of the container is carved with a long-stemmed sunflower and puffs of smoke. Wonderful antique Japanese okimono of the mythical characters Ashinaga and Tenaga. The two friends live on the beach and survive on fish. Tenaga catches them with his long arms while sitting on the back of Ashinaga who wades out into the water with his long legs. Carved with great detail and whimsy out of boxwood. Her robes flow around her and she stands on a rocky out cropping. The coral is perfectly balanced on an ornately carved hardwood base.
