This is a famille jaune glaze bowl used for auspious events such as birthday and joyous occassions that calls for celeberation. This very nice carved ivory okimono of a young farm girl is a mid-19th century product. It is 5 ¾” high (with base is 6 ¾” high), 1 5/8” wide and 2” in depth. It depicts the farm girl carrying a wood and rope woven knapsack on her back. She holds a basket of fruit with both hands in front of her. Her smiling face is simply charming. Shallow form with brilliant turquoise color. The cavetto is molded with thirty-two chrysanthemum petal-form flutes that appear convex on the back-side of the dish and encircle the flattened base. A “China” mark is needle-incised on the base. Very good condition. Acquired 25 years ago in North Carolina from an estate that was involved with the tobacco trade in China. It is rare for a large, delicate flat-rimmed dish, such as this one, to survive without damage.

18K gold chased ring in the form of a buckle. Buckle rings were popular in Victorian England as the Queen wore her order of the garter on her finger. The maker of the ring was William Bullock (WB is the maker's mark). The ring is a US size 6 and .38 inches wide and weighs 6.4 grams. An original natural pigment pottery figure of a standing court lady wearing a short-sleeved tunic over a robe with long sleeves. Her interesting looped hairdo is parted into two bunches that rest atop the sides of her head. Victorian Forget Me Not ring 15K set with six turquoise stones in a radial pattern, 3 supporting turquoises on each side and a diamond at center. The flower literally means “Forget me not” and the small rose diamond in the centre signifies eternal love. The band is ornately carved to enhance the delicacy of the ring. The ring no longer has hair behind crystal back but few examples have survived with this intact. The ring dates to C1880 and is a size 8.
