An antique Japanese Chobako (merchant storage box) made of Kusunoki (Camphor) and Kirinoki (Paulownia) woods. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hikute handles. Beautifully constructed using straight dovetail Japanese joinery and hardened wooden nails. The hinged front door opens to five interior doors where merchant papers, records and small valuables were kept.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality blue crossed swords markings under glaze. The high relief molded design is known as “New Brandenstein”. The borders have a basket weave connected to wavy lines spreading across the porcelain. Lovely sprays of colorful flowers are accompanied by cute, tiny insects. The branch-like handle and rims are trimmed with gold...

Beautiful agate carved into a flower basket, extremely detailed. The basket has a handle with removable string attached. The basket itself has almost a flower pot shape to it, with a maze-like design carved around its sides. A very large example of an antique Japanese Baku corbel used in a temple or shrine. The Baku is a mythical spiritual creature which resides in the Buddhist realm. Its purpose is to devour evil spirits as well as one's nightmares. Carved from one solid block of Keyaki (Zelkova) wood, this architectural sculpture has stood the test of time.

These 8 porcelain plates were produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. They measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. They have a flat rim and are slightly indented in the middle. The plates are made of fine quality porcelain and are quite substantial in weight. The plates feature portraits of different animals in wonderful detail. Antique Islamic fruit sherbet spoon made of solid silver, 19th century Turkey. It has a Turkish Ottoman coin bowl and a long twisted stem handle. The silver is marked 800, indicating its grade, and has an elaborate finial in the shape of a crown. The finial is adorned with Islamic symbols, including a crescent moon and a star. The bowl is made of a 20 Kurush silver coin of Sultan Abdul Aziz II, which is dated AH 1277 (1861-1874 AD)...

Two bowls and a lidded box in blue opaline glass. The bowls undecorated, the box with some gilt. All three French and from the 2nd empire / Napoléon III period, c 1850’s. The blue colour is the same as the “bleu céleste” so much en vogue in Sèvres porcelain of the time. Height of larger bowl: 3 ¼”/8 cm, diameter 4 ¾”/12 cm, diameter of box "2 ¾ / 7 cm.
