This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Klingenberg Limoges. The white blank was sold for decoration to a studio artist. It is signed and dated 1906. The dish measures 16 inches across the handles. it is 8 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain has scrolled, molded handles and scalloped edges. Colorful hand painted roses spill across the interior of the dish. There is gold trim on the handles and edges...

Chinese bowl, to one side Famille rose decoration of Peony in Famille rose colours (the flowers in gilt) in the “boneless” style of Yongzheng and to the other a buddhist emblem. Probably late 19th century, the base with an iron red seal mark, difficult to decipher. Diameter "4/ 10,5 cm, height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: a 1 mm glaze flake to the rim, otherwise fine.

A rare and lovely English porcelain compote with a canary yellow ground on the bowl and pedestal, the center of the bowl hand painted with a bouquet of flowers. Edges are and handle accents are enameled in aubergine. Underside is hand painted 3. Overall condition is excellent, with some soiling below average for age which we attribute to c. 1820-30. An exceptional and elegant tea set consisting of a teapot, sugar, and creamer, hand painted with grey ground, and colorful floral sprays. Generous scrolling and foliate gilding complete the treatment. The condition of this ensemble is well above average for its age which we assign to the 2d quarter of the 19th century - c. 1830-40, suffering occasional soling. The pieces are unmarked other than with a hand painted pattern number...

Chinese 19th Century Famille Verte Porcelain Pillow, Ca. mid to late 1800's, 9 3/4" wide-front, 6" deep, 6 3/8" high-front lower part, with overglaze enamel decorated of double Peacocks on the mosey rocks draped by Plum tree branches and flowers in the front lower part. Couple Swans with giant Lotus flowers and Pods in the backside of the higher part, and bottom is not decorated, shows orange peel surface...

Flint glass open sugar on round foot, glass sliced octagonally. Glass is tinted grey/purple. Condition better than average for age, but still age appropriate wear. This glorious flow mulberry coffee pot is a treat on several counts, not the least of which is the fine ironstone construction and design of the pot with the Peruvian pattern by J Wedge Wood - not be confused with Josiah. The body flairs outward, cutting an impressive figure. Although there is regular crazing throughout, the condition of the pot is excellent. The underside is backstamped as noted, and also has a British Registry mark for the year 1875...

A wonderful hexagonal shaped ironstone flow mulberry covered dish with handles, often times called a vegetable dish, in the Jeddo pattern by William Adams and Sons, c. 1850. The dish and lid are structurally sound but there are a few condition defects to note. On the underside of the lid, there are 2 very shallow chips. On the underside of the foot, there are also 2 chips - 1 very small and the other about 1/4". We show pictures of all defects...

Large NGONTANG helmet mask (all seeing mask) from the Fang people in Gabon, very well used and worn and in great condition - pre 1920 and definitely rare.

Known as Ngontang (or Ngontanga), this mask variety appeared among the Fang people of southern Cameroon and Gabon shortly before 1920. It represents a spirit of the dead visiting as a young white woman from the world beyond...

French Rococo and Louis XV features inform the design of these candelabra which sit on a a footed sinuous base with ornate embellishments from which rise intertwining stems whose sinusoidal arms support separately 4 sockets and bobeches. The finish is gold patination of which there is modest loss. The base is constructed of 3 pieces. Other than the previously noted finish losses, the candelabra are in very good condition. Some of the bobeches rotate freely. Dimension: 15" h

An exceptionally fine frosted goblet on an unusual conical base supporting a fluted bowl, all decorated with frosted devices including a gorgeous anthemion leaf pattern banded by egg and dart. The base has finely etched fern. This flint glass goblet is mid to late 19th C.

This glass belonged to Lenna Gertrude Clarke Judd (1865 - 1939) who was a prominent philanthropist living in Dalton, GA where she built and landscaped her home which she named Oneonta...

A katchushi (or armorer's) tsuba, probably Myochin, with pierced decoration of ship's rudders (the significance being a comparison of rudders steering a ship to values guiding a Samurai's life choices.) The strong, homogenous, dense iron plate with only light tekkotsu and smooth to the touch. Dark patina. Momoyama to early Edo. Good condition: Lamination folds with openings evident on the surface of one side. Ex Skip Holbrook collection. 3 3/32" x 3 1/16" x 1/8" (7.8 cm x 7.7 cm x .32 cm)

An armorer's iron tsuba, possibly for a wakizashi as it is somewhat diminuitive in size. Or perhaps more in keeping with its apparent age, an early example of a proportionately small tsuba used with an uchigatana as was first the fashion. Sukashi decoration of a conch (horagai) traditionally used for ritual practices and for signaling on the battlefield...

This porcelain charger was produced in France by Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman Limoges in the 1890s. It is titled on the back “Dictant Une Lettreâ€, Dictating a Letter, “after Harry Roseland". Harry Herman Roseland (c.1867-1950) was one of the most notable painters of the genre painting school around the turn of the 20th century. An American, Roseland was primarily known for paintings centered on poor African Americans. The charger measures 13 1/2 inches in diameter...
