Late 18th to early 19th century bronze suigaraake (ashtray) netsuke in classic bowl shape, its outside cast with a gnarled branch of a flowering prunus tree. Very well designed piece, good detailing, functional netsuke shape, himotoshi (cord opening) formed by a raised part of the branch. Nice old piece with pleasant patina on metal. Diameter 1 9/16 inches.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in France around 1810. There are no markings on either of the pieces. It could have been made by one of the numerous porcelain manufacturers in the Paris vicinity at that period. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and the cup is 3 3/8 inches high, excluding the handle. The porcelain is heavy and substantial. The decoration is hand painted. Stylized ornaments, including a cornucopia and swans, decorate the sides of the cup...

Very beautiful and rare scene in ink and natural color pigments on a background of gold leaf and gold spangles of a Chinese scholar surrounded by students or disciples. He is leaning on a table where his tablets, brushes and a basket are placed. He observes a flight of wild geese over a rocky mound, a pine tree and a body of water that ripples among the reeds. Edo period late 18th early 19th century.

The plate measures about 10 1/2" in diameter x 2" high, and dates to the early 19th Century. There is a makers' mark on the foot. A heavy Bristol green rummer, the stem with a nice grip, and a wine glass. Mouth blown and made around 1810, the rims softly rounded. The pontil mark of the wine glass removed by grinding, while it is still left on the rummer. Some little air bubbles, the rim of the wine glass with a mark from the tongs used to cut the bowl loose from the pontil. Height "5 ½ / 14 cm and "4 / 11 cm respectively. Condition: fine, except for a minimal scratch mark to the bowl of the rummer.

A pair of English Staffordshire ”Imari” plates, the decoration painted in under-glaze blue and enameled, the rims lustre-glazed. The backs with a printed mark Ironstone China. Early Victorian, c 1830-40. Mason’s was the first manufacturer to launch Ironstone ware but many others were to follow. Diameter "9¾ / 24,5 cm. Condition: some crackling to the glaze to one plate, and a small chip to the underside of the rim (cf. pics).

This crystal beaker or cup with silver lid was produced in Eastern Europe in 1810. There is a date engraved on the glass. We do not know who the maker was. It is 5 1/2 inches high and the diameter of the opening is 3 1/4 inches. The beaker is hand blown and cut from fine crystal.
