Rare ancient pre-Columbian Ameca-Ezatlán terracotta sculpture of a standing woman, 300 BC - 300 AD, from Jalisco region, in central-western Mexico.

The ceramic figure is exquisitely crafted and features a female standing with curvaceous proportions. She stands on arched feet with her arms stretched outward. Her broad shoulders and ample breasts give her a commanding presence...

Oval vessel with bow handle between spout and perforated animal head, Vicús, ca. 100 - 500 AD.

Fine condition vessel from the rather illusive Vicus culture contemporary with the more well-known Moche culture. The vessel misses a very small pseudy lug handle at one side, othervise completely intact and unrepaired with some light weathering at edge of the spout.

A rare stucco sculpture which originally had three heads on this Deity, two are remaining and part of a third one remains. This type of Diety had it's influence from the Gandhara also was a jewel of Buddhist civilization. Scholars of Gandhara traveled east to India and China and were influential in the development of early Mahayana Buddhism. Size with stand. H. 23.3cm. W. 15 cm.

A very rare ewer of Tang Dynasty (618-960), decorated with artistical freely scrolling of brown and green glazed on pale brown body. This decoration is remind us to the shipwreck where founded in Belitung area which most of all is bowls, very fine ewer in my collections. Condition is perfect near excellent even reached 1000 years. Rare fragment of a large faience sistrum. The fragment is the upper part of a large faience sistrum with two hawks above side by side bearing the sun disk. It is seldom to find a sistrum which is surmounted with gods or sacred animals. A sistrum with a similar upper part is in the Eaton College Myer Collection (ECM1693), see last picture.

A very rare massive bronze mace head, Neo-Assyrian Empire, c. 9th.-8th. cent. BC.

More massive in construction than the typical 2nd.-1st. millenium BC mace heads with the solid socket being 4,5 cm. wide. Assyrian design, where the balance is at the very top of the mace head, which is ending in a wide hexagonal star of flat, sturdy projections. High quality weapon with finely detailed profiles and line engravings.

An ancient Egyptian amulet of Shu, god of air and sunshine, c. 1250 BC, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 1 5/16” tall (30 mm) and made of faience. Shu looks to his left and appears to have a side-knot (of hair) hanging down from the right side of his head. The side-knot is usually a sign that it's a prince, although some queens also wore one – for instance, Rameses II's queen Istnofret is depicted with one (Hans Schneider notes), as is her son, Crown Prince Khaemwas...
