A very unusual group of 3 old wooden boxes with lid and beautiful four seasons design silk embroidery on each side, in excellent condition. H:11-1/2" W:7-1/4"

This gourd cricket cage is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 4 ½” long and 2” wide from the top. The rim and lid were made of ivory and carved hard wood. A gourd is grown inside a carved wooden form(s) to create a patterned or shaped body. This cage does not have pattern or design but has a very nice balanced, shaped and light brown body. The ivory rim and lid are in great condition as well. There are no repairs, chips or crack lines.

Very rare heavy hardwood mask, with strong features in relief, an incised sacred trident on its forehead (the traditional weapon of Hindu god Shiva), round metal added eyes, large nose and mouth. Beautiful age patina, with traces of original pigments meant to enhance the mask features. Himalayan region, early 20th century. Height: 27 centimeters. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. An antique Japanese Choba Tansu (merchant chest) in a rare two section design made of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware with full moon style locking plates and Warabite handles. Two sliding doors open to a storage area where merchant books and business records were kept.
