Sagemono made of armor’s fragments. Probably mounted during the early Edo with elements dating from the Muromachi period.

An unusual moulded dish decorated with swirling ribbon like Shonsui brocades alternating with depictions of the Shochikubai. The central Mikomi decorated with a floral motif of two stylised flowers surrounded by a broad band of alternating cartouches in kakiwake style with auspicious objects, Chinese and Japanese Fans and a Whisk, and Cranes.
The dish has a fuchi beni, iron brown glazed rim with no pattern to the reverse...
A fine and well balance potted dish, decorated to interior with incised a pair of aubergine dragons surrounded a shou medallion in the center, the cavetto sides with five clouds. The exterior with a pair of dragons chasing pearl on yellow ground glaze. Yongzheng six characters mark on the base within double circle, probably of the period. Condition is excellent. Diameter: 19cm.
A beautifully proportioned and rare English glass cordial. The small bucket bowl on a long stem with a single series opaque twist comprised of 4 fine spiral gauzes, all above a high domed (helmet) foot. 6 3/8 inches in height, bowl diameter 1 3/4 inches, foot diameter 2 1/2 inches.
Chinese Famille Rose Sugar Bowl and Cover. The petal moulded base and lid with applied Lotus stems, leaves and flowers. Decorated in bright enamels with flowering peony. Yongzheng C1730/40. Height 4 1/4" (10.8cm). Excellent condition, no frits, cracks or restoration. Old collection label attached with sealing wax to base.

This lidded jar is painted with two lion dogs frolicking among peony flowers, all on an imperial yellow ground. The lid is similarly decorated with a single peony bloom. Both the interiors of the jar and lid are unglazed showing the fine white paste. The inset base is covered in a thin clear glaze with an incised double ring. The footring is unglazed and there is minor soiling to it and to the interior of the jar...

Made in the late years of the Kangxi period, this plate illustrates a scene from the Romance of the Western Chamber, depicting a courtship moment between Zhang Sheng and Cui Yingying. The blue is of a lighter, more wistful shade.
This is a finely hand-carved Japanese Netsuke depicting a Man who is kneeling on a platform or base, while feeding a treat to his dog. Excellent detail and expression. Great two-tone patina. Outstanding huge chimney himotoshi, common of netsuke from this period. Unsigned.
Base measure 1.14 X 0.86 inches (2.8 X 2.1cm) Netsuke is 1.78 inches (4.5cm) tall. Netsuke is in excellent preserved condition.
An Arita serving bowl, namasu, of moulded simplified lotus form partially celadon glazed with a ko sometsuke style Sansui landscape in the well of the bowl framed by enamelled Chestnut branches outlined in gilt. The reverse plain and the interior of the foot-ring clear glazed. The bowl is typical of the output of the Higuchi kiln in the Nangawara valley which specialised in combing celadon and clear glazes...
A very rare Chinese blue and white pouch-shaped porcelain vase, 18th century, probably Qianlong period. The vase is in excellent condition, the only flaw is a short (approximately 3/8" long) kiln crack inside the rim, please see enlargement #5 for detail. Height of the vase: 8".
Provenance: purchased from a private collection in the early 1990s.
Vibrant shades of red, blue, gold and green were used to paint this mid Edo period Ko-Imari kendi. 9.5" x 6.75", it is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or repairs.
From our Chinese Blue and White Collection, an absolutely superb Kangxi Mark and Period Charger, 1662-1722, depicting an elegant lady in a garden pavilion tending to a lit censer while her servant stands adjacent with a ruyi-shaped fan. An egret flies overhead and two rabbits sit in the foreground beneath a banana leaf plant. On the outer rim, there are four cartouches of other elegant ladies interspersed with four cartouches of flowering plants, all separated by key fret reserves...

A tall beaker of bell form decorated in underglaze blue with a pair of auspicious Dragons each clasping a “tama” pearl above its head set against a lightening field with auspicious ruyi form clouds supporting respectively artemesin leaves on which are a pair of scrolls bound by ribbons and a flaming pearl.
The design has been adapted from a Chinese precedent of the sixteenth century but with a Japanese twist to the design...

Small jade buckle cut with a grinding wheel, representing a dragon (chilong) curved on itself in the archaic style of the Han period. It is said that this type of buckle was used to suspend a sword on the belt. artist has excellently represented the small animal harmoniously curled up on itself and ready to pounce. The details are perfectly sculpted. The jade is slightly greyish-celadon white, not "fat sheep white". Photos are correctly representative of the color...

This diminutive black basalt wax seal was made by Wedgwood in the late 18th C. as a protest against slavery and features Hercules. The condition is nearly immaculate with no defects to report. The hole at the top was to attach to a lanyard or neck chain or necklace. This item is quite rare and collectible.
