Indian black schist carving of dancing Ganesha, the elephant headed god (the Remover of Obstacles) stands with his own broken tusk in one hand, and ax in the other, trunk is sampling sweets in upper left hand, just below his lower right hand is his mouse vehicle, white and vermilion traces, beautiful modeling of body, from Uttar Pradesh, 15th century. A blue & white bowl, decorated inside and outside with chrysanthemum flowers. Ming dynasty early 16th century Hongzhi period found on Moluccas Halmahera Island. Condition is very good near perfect, just a bit warped and kiln material adhere to outside visible on enlargement 4, no any chip, no crack and free from any restoration. Diameter: 14,3cm.

Wonderful pair of Ming Dynasty ceramic joss stick holders in the form of guardian lions in rich turquoise glaze on brown pedestals. Measure 6 3/4" high, 5 3/4" wide, and 2 1/2" deep. Figures are of buff colored clay, are hollow with hole in top for holding sticks. The turquoise glaze is somewhat mottled over the surface, deeper in color in some areas, and having a greenish hue in other areas, while the raised areas show the color of the underlying clay...

The Chinese porcelain dish has a border of two repeating elements, a garlanded ruyi and three interlinked rings. The centre of the dish depicts a Chinese landscape with two scholars approaching a solitary angler. The dish was made for the Japanese where such pieces were used and much appreciated in the tea ceremony, at a time when the Japanese porcelain industry was in its infancy.

A Chinese, blue and white glazed, inkstone decorated with lion-dogs, playing with a brocaded ball. A nicely painted piece for the Scholar's desk, and dating to the late Ming dynasty; C16th to early C17th. Traces of kiln grit are attached to the inner foot, and the base bears an apocryphal four-character Zhengde reign mark. Diameter, 10.7 cm Condition; good, with age relate wear.

A Ming dynasty 16th century blue and white dish, decorated with children playing or dancing in the garden. Possibly Hongzhi-Zhengde period. Good condition with no any chips, no crack and free from any restoration. Diameter: 13,5 cm.

This pair of Chinese late Ming Dynasty (1368~1644) blue and white vases (Mei Ping) are 10 ¼” high and 5” on the widest part. Aside from some dark spots and blisters due to firing, they are in excellent condition.

A dish decorated in a Chinese literati style with a composition featuring principally a scholar’s refuge, Ting (Chinese), Teshi (Japanese ) beneath a rather curious gnarled tree with fan like foliage, presumably a Pine, and an auspicious ruyi (lingzhi) cloud pattern. This cloud motif, unki-zu, is essentially Chinese, xiangyun, relying on the homophone yun, yun, cloud, which sounds like yun, good luck or fortune, combined with Tian, heaven, so signifying heaven sent good luck...

Diameter: 37 cm. China, 16th/17th century. Condition: age wear and rim fritting, no cracks or repairs.

Ming Dynasty 16th century brown glazed dragon-jar for the trade with Borneo. This nice not to big jar was found in a Borneo longhouse. H : 9 inc. Small chip to the rim but still very nice condition.

An perfectly potted porcelain bowl, decorated in underglaze Cobalt blue with an very nice clouds-decor. The tone of the Cobalt blue is very attractive and the glaze of this bowl is simply perfect. Ming Dynasty, Wanli period ( 1522 - 1620 ). Diameter: 11,9 cm. H: 6,8 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice "ping-tone" when tapped.

Finely cast statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri, in formal attire, his face showing a half smile, sitting in "rajalila asana" on a chimera or highly stylized lion, both resting on an elevated lotus throne. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Height: 9 1/8" (23,3 cm). Iron, with partly encrusted patina. Obvious signs of great age, strong oxydization in some areas, otherwise very good condition. A very fine statue. NOTE: "rajalila asana" is the king's posture. It is sometimes used on bodhisattvas statues...
