Pair of ancient Persian small cast bronze mythical creatures. Each figure has a rounded head, the short horns of a bull, an arching neck and a single hoofed foot. Various holes and slots point to a utilitarian as well as decorative function. Most likely these were feet used for a ritual incense vessel. Interesting cylinder seal carved in greyish black stone, with worshippers standing either side of the Tree of Life, with the winged emblem of Ashur / Assur above. Nice Neo-Assyrian style and fine details.

Mesa Verde squash effigy canteen ca. 1000 ad., it is approx: 7-1/2"high X 6"wide, it is whole except for handle was broken off about half way down handle and re-glued back on, the very tip of handle the crack was restored. I have been told that they intentionally stained the body with cactus juice to give it a ripen squash look, this canteen would have had a yucca plug in it to hold the water in as they traveled. A terrific oversized bronze figural Bell, Luristan, c. 1200-800 BC.

The bronze Goat with exceptionally long curving horns and forelegs and with it's body evolving into a large openwork bell. Probably once with a small loop at the end, now lost.

Size: 13,6 cm. long and 9 cm. tall. A high unusual size for these which are normally quite small.

Condition: Near Extremely fine, but for the lost loop finial...

Diameter approximately 15 cm. There are soft chips at the rim. There are several glaze fall. In good condition.

A lovely figure with fine details of Kores archaic features, the elaborate gown and the wonderful expression. She wears a spiked diadem holding her long hair.

Exquisite Pre-Columbian stirrup vessel depicting Two Jaguars, an adult and cub, 500 BC–500 AD, 8" H x 10.5 ; Vicus, Peru. This piece appears in "Pre-Columbian Art" by Alan Lapiner, in color on page 186. Its broad grin is reminiscent of the characters in Maurice Sendak's book "Where the Wild Things Are." It has been reassembled from approximately 5 pieces, with the cracks filled in.

This is an extremely rare Paleo Folsom made from a dark gray, translucent flint. It is 1 11/16" by 13/16". Both faces are fluted to the tip. The basal edge is concave and the haft is ground most of the way up the blade edges...
