This is Japanese porcelain vase from one of the great Meiji artists. It is signed Kawamoto Hansuke. The vase has a wonderful stout shape and is very heavy. It has what appears to be several firing flaws or just an unusual design to several of the flowers. The vase measures 7 1/4 tall and is 7 1/2 inches wide.

Late Meiji Japanese Bizen pottery ware chaire (tea caddy for storing powdered green tea used in tea ceremony) with slender body and narrow mouth. Wonderful potting, beautiful patina, very nice texture and play of colors to the partial light glaze on its surface. Inscribed by the potter on the bottom. Turned bone cover lined with silver colored foil on the inside. Great piece in excellent condition. Height with cover 2 15/16 inches.

A very good cut glass vase by Clark in the "Iris" pattern. The lower third and the flared rim are cut with elongated hobstars flanked by mitred triangles of strawberry diamond cutting enhanced with fans; and the neck is cut with panels of printies alternating with notched prisms. The base is cut with a 20-point hobstar and has Clark’s script acid signature. The pattern is either "Iris" or a variant of “American Beauty”...

Jars such as this current example were often given as gifts containing foodstuffs with the lids glued shut. As a result, many lids were broken upon opening and subsequently lost to history, which is why so many are seen without their original lids...

An impressive magnifying glass with a carved ivory handle with 18 natural red coral beads. We believe the ivory handle to be a Meiji period Japanese parasol handle and sometime in its history converted to a magnifying glass. In very good antique condition with all beads intact, the handle measures 5 inches x 1 1/8". Magnifying glass with handle is 10.5 inches long.

An old Japanese saki storage bottle in good condition except for some manufacturing flaws which only add to its character and charm. They include firing cracks on the rim, a spot where it touched another bottle in the kiln, and some loss at the base which may have also happened during firing. These type of saki bottles were used as everyday ware by Japanese people and were not made for export. Desired by collectors they also make excellent vases...

Japanese lacquer inro depicting a dragon partially hidden among clouds lacquered in relief. The outer surface is covered in lacquer with dark brown nuances, which offers an elegant contrast with the dragon's shimmering mother-of-pearl. A Victorian sterling silver ornate floral hand mirror circa 1890 1900. This antique 10-1/2" x 5-3/4" dresser set piece has a she ield cartouche that has not had a monogram. The silver marks are usually found near the base of the mirror at the handle, which in this case appears to have been shortened slightly, you can see a separate line, obscuring the hallmarks. The mirror was tested and it does test as sterling silver. Greatly resembles older Kirk or Steiff silver...
