An extremely rare Chinese Traveling Tax Collectors Folding Desk With built-in pull drawers and top that flips to reveal compartment for documents. Not shown is a set of drawers that sit atop the desk with pigeon holes for documents. In our almost 50 years of Asian arts and antiques, we have never seen another example like this. A wildly crafted bronze image of a shishi lion breathing out a cloud forming the basin for a flower arrangement (known as an usubata). The curly hair has been somehow flaked off and maintained during the casting process, quite an exceptional example. The basin can be removed from the mouth of the creature. Assembled it is 32 x 28 x 33 cm tall (12-3/4 x 11-1/4 x 13 inches) and weighs 4390 grams (9.5 pounds). It is in fine original condition.

19th century staghorn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in a shape of a decaying skull. Wonderful carving, beautiful patina on the surface, in excellent condition. Length 5/8 inches.

This well preserved Victorian 900 silver lorgnette has a rectangular enameled handle. The enamel is in great condition on all four sides. The lorgnette works and has low magnification lenses. The total length of the lorgnette is 5 3/8 “.

Chinese antique monochrome porcelain incensor with round squat body on three legs. The red oxblood glaze transitions to white around the short neck and flares slightly. Thick drips on the underside of the body. The copper content of the glaze is evident in green colored drippings on the inside of the lip.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty Guangxu period porcelain jar decorated in famille verte enamels with two central panels on opposing sides. One panel features a veranda with a woman kneeling before an official and his attendant. The opposing panel depicts beauties and children in a garden setting. Between the two large panels are two smaller floral roundels. The panels are set against a cream-colored crackled glaze background densely covered in rust-red flowers and green scrolling foliage...

19th century Japanese tsuishu (cinnabar lacquer) netsuke, the front with a scene of a scholar reading a book by a low table under a pine tree with a view of a distant mountain. The back is carved with a scholar walking in a garden among trees and flowers. Both scenes have finely carved various brocade patterned backgrounds. Two parts fit snugly by joining and twisting them, metal fitting inside the front part with tied himotoshi cord. Superb crisp carving, in excellent condition...

A fancy ornate brass oval frame having trefoil cartouches with leaves and edged with beading encircle the mirror held up by easel stand whose stretcher is detached from the frame.
