Handsome hexagonal faceted glass paperweight featuring a detailed frost intaglio of a lion pressed into the base. The New England Glass Company made several different types of intaglio paperweights, and this piece is possibly an example of the company's work.

19th century staghorn ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) carved in seed shape with sunken relief carving of a cucumber and an eggplant. Excellent design in Japanese taste, green and brown stained vegetables, natural imperfections in staghorn, great patina. Height 5/8 inches.

19th century Japanese iron mae-kanagu (tobacco pouch clasp fitting) depicting a sparrow serving sake from a bottle to an old man with a sake cup. The topic represented is Shitakiri Suzume, or the story of a tongue cut sparrow - see H. Joly LEGEND IN JAPANESE ART, p. 496. Iron is notoriously difficult to work with. Excellent design, superb crisp detailing, silver inlays and gilding. Length 1 7/16 inches.

This 9-1/2" tall vase features a lattice-style silverplated holder with a band of laurel leaves, holding the matching glass liner also with a laurel leaf band. This demitasse cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in France by Haviland Limoges before 1900. The plate has a diameter of 7 1/2 inches, the saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The plate and saucer are scalloped with a ripple molded into the border. The cup has a shape like a clover. The three pieces are decorated with a floral transfer that trails across each piece in art nouveau style. The rims are trimmed with a double gold band...

It is silver plated on copper and it has the maker's mark for Charles Howard Collins of Birmingham, England (founded c1895)...

An Empress Gloss papier mache advertising box circa 1890-1900. This German box has a fancy script "EMPRESS" GLOSS gold advertising decal on the lid. This porcelain basket was produced in France by Pouyat Limoges around 1900. It was made especially for Wanamaker’s Department Store. The basket measures 9 1/4 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches high including the handle. The rim of the basket is frilly and scalloped with high relief molding as does the handle. The inside of the basket has a transfer decoration. There are garlands of tiny flowers and pink roses. The rim of the basket has sponged gold trim...

An 8" across and 3-7/8" tall Canadian brilliant cut crystal or glass bowl c1900-10. This high quality and ornately cut bowl has the acid stamp for Roden Brothers and it is in excellent condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a couple of the expected minor edge chips (this bowl looks nearly perfect). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use...

Of stamped silver, with handmade chains and other small pendants, this Chinese silver piece would make a lovely necklace, and is a traditional item in Chinese culture. The top piece features a group of immortals around a plaque with Chinese calligraphy, with five chains below, each with a piece of fruit, including the hand of buddha and citrus. The back of the pendant has an applied hallmark. The total length is 6 3/4" and the flat pendant is 2 3/8" x 1 5/8"...
