A Chinese Yue Celadon Glazed Chicken-Head Ewer. Circa, 220-589, Six Dynasties. This jar features a compressed globular body with a short neck that flares to a thick upper flange which is slightly depressed in the center. Opposite its thick curved handle is a chicken-head spout. Two lug handles set on its shoulders and is covered with a green celadon glaze. Its base is unglazed exposing a compact grey stoneware clay. Found in the Philippines...

This is good-quality Yogi of Tsumugi-Silk used in the Tohoku district at the end of Edo period. Yogi which it is polychromatic, and was dyed is an upper item. This is one of the upper wedding ceremony items. As for this, basics are dyed in indigo plant and Kariyasu. At first this is dyed in Tsutsugaaki, and 90% are finished, and a part of the tiger is pictured freehand carefully successively...

A Japanese impressive brown patinated bronze incense burner with shades, depicting a Shishi standing in a garden of flowers with its mouth open, holding a sphere (koro) with its paws. Rectangular base with engraved band supported by four wavy feet. Made up of three pieces: the base, the Shishi and the sphere. Komainu 狛犬 or Shi Shi dogs are more commonly found as pairs of guardians at the entrance to Buddhist temples and shrines in Japan, usually one with its mouth open and the other...

Sublime ceramic Kannon statue of old Kutani-yaki made by one of the greatest potters, Aoki Mokubei. The statue is 200 years old and in great antique condition with only a small repair on the right hand with transparent lacquer and only one! tiny spot with peeling of glaze. The all over glaze is spectacular.

The arquebuse is technically perfectly detailed, its mechanism works. The barrel of the cannon is made of iron inlaid with bronze silver and gold. The carriage is made of very dense black wood, probably ebony inlaid with mother-of-pearl. A small metal key allows it to be dismantled, leaving the incised signature of the artist to appear under the barrel Kuni-Tomo familly perhaps Sada-Hisa who liked to depict birds and flowers on his tsubas? Edo period 19th century or earlier...

The censer is cast with twin upright handles and the body is decorated with three taotie panels divided by flanges. It is raised on three tall supports each decorated with a stylised mask and a flange. Late Ming Dynasty, 16th - 17th century. H : 25,9 cm. There is an old inventory Number to the base of the body. Buncheong ware in a flattened ovoid form with a raised foot finished with a wide flared rim. It is decorated with a creamy colored slip and the faces are painted with a leafy plant in brown slip, all beneath a clear glaze with a faint celadon tint where pooled in drips along the shoulder, the creamy slip and the glaze are also applied within the recessed base...

A fine example of Edo period Kano painting, this generously proportioned hanging scroll illustrates a late autumn scene from the Japanese countryside over 300 years ago. The poem on the scroll reads:

A close to autumn, on a ring of mountaintops

The painter, Minenobu Kano (1662 - 1708), was greatly admired by the Ienobu Tokugawa shogunate who eventually promoted him to the position of inner-court artist...

An antique Japanese 2 section Gifu Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Uncommon and rare small size. The sides feature horizontal cross ribs for added strength and durability. Its construction included mortise and tenon as well as through mortise and tenon joinery. Behind the two sets of sliding doors are storage areas originally used to keep business store records and ledgers...

Rare and large bronze shrine. The central figure is a Jina or Tirthankara. He is surrounded by small Jina's on the back plate. Each of the 24 Tirthankaras is represented by an animal or a symbol. There is an engraved animal on the foot of this shrine, but it is hard to distinguish which animal it is. The shrine is in an excellent condition, all three parts belong together, there are no repairs...
