Antique Japanese hibachi (brazier) from the Kyoto region, made with original finish hardwood. The interior is lined in copper with natural patina. Two drawers are in front as well as a hidden compartment in the top surface.

Beautiful Okinawan uchikui which is a furoshiki (wrapping cloth) with cherry blossom design. The dye technique is tsutsugaki and bingata-zome which is traditional Okinawan dyeing technique adding colorful vegetable color or pigment. Uchikui is dyed with either tsutsugaki or katazome (stencil-resist-dye). Uchikui is used for not only wrapping but also covering gifts. This uchikui is two panels sewn together. Superb "tsampa" bowl made of a wood core entirely covered with repoussé silver decorated in relief with the eight Buddhist symbols around its body surmounting a floral design. Beneath, a decoration representing a coiled dragon in relief framed by floral designs. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 2 3/16" (5,7 cm). Diameter: 4 1/2" (11,5 cm). A few dents, obvious signs of age, otherwise very good condition.

Ayutthaya period small gilded bronze Buddha on throne. Cast in two parts. H. 15 cm. Condition: expected age wear, very good patina, minor damage to the footrim of the throne.

A nice wooden mummy mask of a smaller size, probably late period, mid-late 1st. millenium BC.

Condition: Intact with smaller losses and much wear. Remnants of pigments still visible on the surface in recesses.

Provenance: Old Bavarian collection from the 1930s and onwards.

Antique Korean sewing box made using the 1500 year old Korean paper technique called Hanji. Paper is made by hand from mulberry pulp and used to fashion various items. This 8 sided box is decorated with Double Happiness symbols and stands on four feet made of sea shells.

Chinese Yixing red clay teapot with enamel. Good condition. 9 cm wide. 6 cm diameter. 6 cm high.

An Edo period Oribe sake bottle of simple but full proportions and with classically Japanese Zen decoration - austerely yet sensitively placed grass and blooms decoration in iron oxide on the softly crackled opaque off-white glaze ever so slightly scorched in the kiln on two sides where the body is almost slightly exposed and oxidized to a buff tone at those points. The cut foot also glazed save for a crescent reserve around the center where the warm gray body is exposed...

Excellent light tea bowl fired in the Busan kiln which was run by the Tsushima feudal clan in the middle of the Joseon era (17c)...

A fine pottery koro in typical milky white glaze supported by three figures in russet red by Okuda Mokuhaku dating from the mid 19th century. It is 13 cm (5 inches) diameter, 11.2 cm (4-1/4 inches) tall. There is a chip in the rim, otherwise is in excellent condition. It is stamped on the base AKahadayama followed by a circular seal reading Mokuhaku. t comes in a simple wooden box.

Decor in the center of phoenixes, rocks and peonies in overglaze enamels and underglaze cobalt blue (which is unusual for Kakiemon). Chinese late Qing to early Republic period lady’s robe embroidered in polychrome silk and gold couched thread on a black silk ground.
