Antique Tibetan broach with figures of the Lord Vishnu astride the anthropomorphic form of Garuda, his vehicle mount (vahana). Made of metal filagree and inlaid with coral, shell, turquoise, and red and blue carved glass.

Small statue of Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, wearing a diadem and formal robes, sitting on a double lotus throne, her right hand in abhaya mudra. Gilt bronze, with fine dark green patina. China, 19th century. Height: 8.8 cm. Gliding partly missing, otherwise every good condition.

Small statue of Buddha Sakyamuni, sitting cross-legged on an elevated throne, his hands in "bhumisparsa mudra", backed by a seven-headed stylized Naga sacred snake. Bronze with traces of the original gilding. Partially encrusted patina of green and reddish color. Burma, 18th century or earlier. Height: 10,5 cm. Good condition.

Chogappo made of fragments of choma (ramie), one of bast fibers, which is recycled from white and dyed ramie textiles. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Both warps and wefts are hand-plied for all fragments...

Found in the Philippines. The kendi is a well-known form in the Southeast Asian repertoire of vessels, and it has played a significant role in the rituals and daily life of the region since the first century CE. The kendi appears to be a variation of the kundika, an ancient holy vessel holding water from India’s sacred rivers...

Diameter approximately 24 cm. Few soft chips at the rim. In good condition.

Architectural element (part of a beam, or a corner), nicely carved in relief and representing Garuda, the vehicle of Hindu god Vishnu, half-bird, half-man, in his anthropomorphic appearance. Heavy wood (probably from the Southern part of Nepal), dark patina. Nepal, 19th century or earlier. Height: 13" (34 cm); The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Bronze, with thick encrusted green patina. Tibet, 16th century. Height: 5 1/2" (14 cm). Diadem partly chipped, a few tiny casting defects, otherwise very good condition. A rather unusual aspect of the Buddha image.

Chinese agate girdle clasp, also called "sui" in Chinese. I am uncertain about the date of it, but do believe that it should be from Qing Dynasty or earlier. It is in good condition with russet streaks. 2-3/8" X 1-1/8" X 1/2".

Ancient Buddhist book of sutras comprising of two thick lacquered and gilt cardboard covers decorated with 16 Buddhas sitting on a throne with their hands in bhumisparsa mudra posture. The central Buddha is flanked by two smaller buddhas, and at their feet are two small praying monks. The book has 42 X 2 pages (written on two sides) written in black characters. Burma, 19th century. A Chinese nephrite pendant (珩）with double dragon head, Waring State style, late Qing Dynasty. Length: 3-5/8" (9 cm).

A large soupstone seal as well as a decorative art item carved by late Qing Dynasty artist Xu Xinzhou, signed Xing Zhou, studio name of the artist. Good condition except an old chip at one end of the stone. Dimensions: Approximately 6-1/2"L X 3"H X 2"T.

Shakudo tsuba with a relief decor representing foliage and flowers, with gilt highlights on a background of tiny dots. The tsuba is unsigned. Japan, late Edo period. Height: 7.2 cm. Very good condition despite a slight erosion all over the piece. Sold with its box.

Box in gilded bronze, in the shape of two superimposed fans finely decorated with lake landscapes, flowers and birds. The shape is complicated and rare. Inside very beautiful gilding, carved with birds and plants. The black patinated underside bearing the workshop's signature in gold. The box rests on three short legs. There are 2 shades of gilding, yellow and greenish. Good condition, no repairs. 62mm x 28mm

Chinese finial hat, known in Chinese as guanmaodi, done in repousse silver topped with a lion. A lage round agate bead, known as dingzhu is placed in the center, the middle has a cylindrical bead with repousse figures, and the base has a very pale jade ring. Age: 19th-20th Century. Size: 4" high.
