Amitayus is considered the giver of a long life and in Buddhismus embodies a crowned and dignified Buddha from the lotus family.

He is depicted meditating on the lotus seat and holding his hands in the gesture of equanimity. In many depictions he holds an ambrosia vase in his hands filled with the nectar of longevity and immortality...

A large, and heavy, Stick Stand, ( for holding walking sticks and umbrellas), profusely decorated, in Satsuma style, with a panapoly of historical scenes enclosed within elaborately enamelled textile (?) patterns and surmounted by a large coiled dragon amongst stylized clouds. This item was made in Japan for export to Europe or America during the late 19th or early 20th Century. Condition: there are chips to the rim, some cracks around the base and losses to the head and claws of the dragon...

Han Dynasty, very nice shape and decorated in high relief with very funny represented animals like bear, phoenix or peacock, lion, dog... H : 12,8 cm. Diameter : 15,8 cm. Condition : In places some ( actually decorative ) glaze degradiations, the body in a perfect condition.

Of elegant pear shaped form. 18th. century, unmarked. Unfortunalely on all the images of the piece the blue color of the vase is much too light. In nature the vase has an wonderful very intensive blue tone. H : 18,8 cm. Condition : Perfect. Provenance : Old German collection.

Japanese lacquered tray with the view of Tagonoura and Mt. Fuji with various Japanese motifs surrounding the image. Taka makie is used to create the effect on Mt. The rare shape of this bowl is so to say a forerunner of a shape which was common during the Yuan Dynasty. In his book "Chinese blue and white Porcelain" Duncan Macintosh calls the shape of such a bowl: a "bowl in traditional "shufu" shape."( page 18 ). An elegant tall vase in signature soft blue by Shinjo Tozan III of Yamagata enclosed in the original singed wooden box dating from the early half of the 20th century titled Yohen Kabin. It is 15cm (6 inches) diametr, 41cm (16 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

Antique Japanese scroll painting of a young woman with a younger girl , dressed in beautiful flowing kimono and standing below a cherry blossom branch. There are three chops altogether, one is of a very unusual shape of a vase. Beautiful calligraphy along the upper region with artist's signature below in corner. Tomobako is included.

This is a rare antique Mizusashi (water jar) of Japanese Ofukei ware covered with black lacquer lid decorated with wisteria entwined with pine trees which was made in 18-19 centuries during Edo period (1603-1868)...

Japanese Antique Iron Tetsubin with Bronze lid. Tetsubin has a Mount Fuji Shape. Kettle displays a fainted casting of a Japanese Kiri bird and phoenix on one side. A crane and turtle are also displayed along with a 5 character mark and cartouche medallion. Handle is thin, casted with bamboo nodes. Bottom of Tetsubin is in good condition. A letter open done in mixed metal with motif of cranes, chrysanthemums, magnolia-like flowers, and other flowering plants. The letter opener contains a signature that is difficult to read. Age: Meiji Period. Size: Length 13" Width 1.5"

Statue of Kuan Yin, wearing a robe and a cape, sitting in "regal repose" on a dais surmounting a stylised lotus. Kuan yin is holding a scroll on her left hand and a small ball on her right hand.
