A splendid antique Chinese agate snuff bottle with a motif of a fish jumping out of the water. The carving is done where the artist used the distinct colorations of the stone emphasizing the fish. Age: 20th century Size: Length 2.25" Width 1.25" Height 0.75"

This Japanese hibachi is made from a single piece of Kiri wood, aka paulownia. A design of thick raised gold lacquer, aka Makie depicts Botan peony plant with added colors of pink and green for definition of flower and a single leaf. Hibachi comes with the original copper insert and the condition is very good. A couple of hard to find scratches and tiny (pinheadsize) dents on the top rim. Hibachi dates from late Meiji period. The size is approx 6.5" diameter x 6” high

A small attractively patinated bronze (copper zinc alloy) koro or censer, possibly made in Japan during the 19th Century.. Condition: excellent - there is very minor surface ware consistant with careful old use as an incense burner; no damages losses or repairs.

A rare small wine cup painted with stylized lotus scrolls in underglaze blue. The base carries the six character mark of the Guangxu emperor and it was made during his reign (1875-1908). Kappa (cape) which was called "hikimawashi" or "maru-gappa" in old days. It is made of cotton with warp kasuri checker board pattern on one side and cotton stripes on the other side. It was worn on the occasion of travel over kimono. It has wool collar, probably imported. The word "kappa" came from Portuguese "capa". The Portuguese first came to Japan in 17th century. A rare and lovely Ming Dynasty, Hongzhi period ( 1488 - 1505 ) porcelain dish, decorated in underglaze Cobalt blue with a fish, swimming in a underwater scenery. Diameter : 12 cm. Condition : Perfect with a nice "ping" tone when tapped.

A six-sided porcelain wine pot warmer painted in Qianjiang style with a scene on one side from a Chinese opera relating to stories from the Three Kingdoms period. On the other side is a poem which we have, as yet, been unable to read. It is signed and dated to 1903. Condition - very good - there are glaze imperfections and there are two chips to the base rim (please view enlargement 2); no further damages and no restoration...

Nice old Cambodian “siri” box. This piece predates the Khmer Rouge regime and circa 60 or 70 years old. In good condition, this has an unusual 4 carved bamboo bands- most only have 1 or 2, so it is quite ornate There is no significant damage other expected signs of use and wear. In recent years Khmer lacquerware is making a comeback, however most of this is used for “home décor” export items, as far as I know no one is currently resurrected items for common household use...

Late Qing dynasty Guangxu period export ginger jar with lid decorated on the front in underglaze blue on a white porcelain ground with the three Star Gods (Fuxing, Luxing, and Shouxing) representing good fortune, prosperity, and long life. Shou holds the peach of immortality, Fu carries a child, and Lu holds a ruyi scepter. They are standing together in a landscape setting in front of a large tree. A stylized bamboo stalk is on the back...

Beautiful jasperware wall plaque of a winged lady with a shephard's staff entitled "Pastorale" and signed Stephan Finding and dated 1886. It has very high relief, and the detail is exquisite. This beautiful plaque is one of a pair. The other is also on this web site. They each measure 13" tall x 8" wide in the frame, and 10 1/2" tall x 6" wide without. They are in wonderful condition. They are each priced individually.

Unfortunately the images are not able to show the beauty of this small jade in the form of a mythical beast ( bixie ). There is a hole trough the piece so that it is possible to wear this piece as a necklace like a "Dzi Bead". Pale, yellowish "celaon jade", Song Dynasty. L : 3,5 cm. Condition : Perfect.

A small Korean vanity box, with gorgeous natural burl front drawers, opened by brass handles. The top drawer has a charming drawer pull in the form of a turtle.

Rare Warring States, circa 475–221 BCE, squat gray pottery jar, with incised wave, impressed diamond and large carved spiral patterned bands. The spiral pattern is quite interesting as this is usually only seen on archaic jade bi from the period. Some of the tips of the spiral are broken otherwise superb condition considering its delicacy and age. The surface absorbs water very quickly with a distinct petrichor scent. D: 28cm/11in and H: 14cm/5.5in.

A large (15 5/8 inch diameter) tile of birds and flowers enclosed within a blue border inside black lines. The tile has the usual thick transparent crackled glaze, muted colors and off-white tone. 15 5/8 inches (38 cm) diameter.

Condition: no cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some very small chips on the edge, the biggest is under the glaze so it must have happened before firing...

Very rare architectural element beautifully carved in the shape of a celestial being, maybe Garuda, flying and holding a vessel in his hands. Wood, with dark-brown patina. Nepal, 18th century, maybe earlier. Height: 14,5 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old insect infestation (treated, no danger), some losses, otherwise very good condition.

Chinese porcelain dish with vibrantly painted flowers in blue, red, and pink with light and dark green leaves and branches, and red berries. The inside of the bowl has a small pink strawberry and the bottom is signed "Ch'eng Hua", 19th century. Size: 2" tall, 4.25" diameter

Japanese late Meiji period bronze vase with silver inlaid bamboo decoration on the front. At the bottom of the back is the incised signature of the engraver Mitsunobu. The base reads "Kyoto Kuroda made." 6 1/8" high. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition with a nice patina. The silver has not been polished. There is a vertical area on the back that feels slightly flattened, but is barely noticeable.
