A very attractive and rare Pair of Mandarin Ducks OSHIDORI made of slightly modified and patinated root wood. The male wIth raised head and the female looking at the ground after food. This ultra-rare Spiro Mound shell carving is 2 1/4" and has two suspension holes. The shell is translucent and shows beautiful patina. The holes are correct. The figure appears to be holding a ceremonial monolithic flint mace. The figure is wearing an elaborate necklace with a cross pendant and ear spools. It also has a weeping eye motif. Quality Chinese Xianfeng Period porcelain famille rose stem bowl; features a central gilded iron red dragon surrounded by clouds inside a border of bats, lotus and folia scrolls; the underside shows a series of polychrome auspicious objects above a base border of bats and clouds; hand painted Xianfeng mark; good condition

Antique Japanese pair of koro (censers) made of bronze. The round, facetted body of each koro stands on 3 small legs in the shape of leaves. The lids are similar to fans with the openings between the ribs made in an open fashion to allow for the escape of incense smoke. Each with a deep black patination.

Rare Chinese kangxi period sancai glaze inkpot, decorated with single lizard. 4,5 cm high. Free from any repair. there is found hairlines (please see on the picture).

Hanging scroll. Portrait of probably Sugawara no Michizane, sitting in court dress - a black garment with a long white sash - holding a wooden mace. The black garment, with red liner, is delicately decorated with flowers between waving lines. The sash also decorated with stylized flower shapes.

A fabulous Rootwood stand of dark red hardwood with a web of interlacing root-legs beneath. It is 48 x 32 x 8 cm (19 x 12-1/2 x 3 inches) and is in overall fine condition, dating from the first half of the 20th century.

This is an authentic nephrite pendant dating to the Qing dynasty. Two zoomorphic figures frame the central bi on this exceptionally well-carved object. The piece shows substantial alteration in the stone, which is of a grayish hue with a large darker area on one side. Height is 2-3/4" by 3-1/4" in width. Please examine the photos which accurately capture the color and carving quality.

In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, a Naga is a semidivine being, half human and half dragon serpent. Nagas can assume either wholly human or wholly serpentine form. They live in an underground kingdom filled with beautiful palaces that are adorned with gems. Size; 90cm X 70cm. Condition: two age cracks between the head and body. Overall in very good condition.

Wonderfully painted enamel ring depicting the love between Cupid and Psyche, the universal symbol of everlasting love. The ancient Greeks viewed the butterfly as a symbol of the immortality of the soul. The painting on the enamel ring shows the goddess Psyche, which means "soul" or "spirit", in the form of the butterfly, being chased by Cupid. The ring is 18K, circa 1910, size 6.5 and can be sized.

A fine and rare example of the antique, circa 1850 "kupka - kupke," a cap with wig. This type of Kupka was worn by well-to-do religious Jewish women on the Sabbath and holidays in Poland in the 19th century...

Boxwood shunga netsuke with skillfully carved natural himotoshi depicting two mushrooms. A touch of genius is found in the depiction of the smallest mushroom, which is placed upside down above the larger one's head. From this small cavity emerges a delicate caterpillar carved from blond horn. Engraved signature Masatomo 正友. Period: Edo 19th century Dimensions: 2.4 x 4.2 x 3.6 cm. State of conservation: Excellent condition - There are natural openings in the wood.

This carved ox horn statue of an old man is a late 19th century product. It depicts a bearded old story teller sitting with one leg kneeling. He holds a pair of clap sticks or clappers in his right hand. His left hand rests on his belt. The statue is 4 7/8” high, 2 ¾” wide from bottom and 2 ¼” thick from bottom (without base). It is in great condition.

A very rare Jin Dynasty Greenware jar with three lugs typical of that era. The green glaze going two thirds of the way down the vase. The inside is glazed also. Comes with a certificate from the Chinese Government Auction House. Size H. 47 cm. Condition: Very nice glaze. No repairs. A fine kiln crack around the bottom unglazed area that does not go through the inside.
