A beautiful and very early 18th century bizarre silk fragment, from a chausable of the period. Vegetal and flower motifs in polychrome silk, silver and gold thread on a salmon ground, the entire piece mounted on cotton. Excellent overall condition, with some expected oxidation of the metallic threads. The panel itself is 28" in length, and 9 3/4" at its widest. The mounted size is 30 1/4" by 11 1/4"...

Head of the Buddha shown with solemn expression. The refined facial features with arched eyebrows over heavy lidded eyes and a sensitively modeled mouth with purse lips. The half open eyes with their barely indicated irises confer the head a meditative gaze. The hair is delicately textured with a central bun (usnisha) on top. Charming American Miniature Blanket Chest in chestnut, having a hinged moulded edge top opening to a well, a single lower drawer and raised on straight bracket feet. Note the fine dovetail work on the sides.

A fine very large bronze buddha, Burma or Northern Thailand, ca. 18th. century.

He helds both of his hands in a gesture of exposition or teaching (vitarkamudra) that in India is confined to the right hand. He wears multible jewels and a large headdress and especially large earrings. He is standing on a small flat base and professionally mounted on round black wooden plint.

Rather whimsical Georgian III Tea Caddy in the form of two conjoined single caddies, rectangular, with hinged lid opening to two lidded compartments and the whole raised on ball form feet. Only the right hand escutcheon has a working lock.

A Chinese Qingbai Glazed Ewer. Circa, 960-1279, Song Dynasty. Found in the Philippines. Ewer decorated with carved vertical lines, chambering its body into six sides with a carved floral band around its shoulders, below a straight cylindrical neck and is covered overall in a blue-green glaze. Its base is fully unglazed. Measurements: height 4.9"inches or 13cm. Condition: it is missing its cover but is in perfect condition. No repairs...

Japanese Early Meiji Period Kneeling Gosho Ningyo (Palace Doll) depicted with a gift box offering, wearing a fitted silk crepe haragake bib with a cherry blossoms design, tied at the neck and waist. He has a delightfully rendered face with a bright expression, slightly open mouth, and painted features. His forehead has a painted auspicious mizuhiki (presentation ribbon). He is covered overall in a fine white gofun (oyster shell lacquer). 4h x 4w inches, 10h x 10w cm.

Amygdaloidal Basalt Snuff Botle of flattened rectangular shape, supported on an oval footrim, the gently slopping shoulders rising to a cylindrical neck; the mottled dark stone ground suffused by gray-blue epidote and calcite irregular but attractive intrusions. Polished layered-lacquer lozenges are inlayed into the surface of this fabulous Art-Deco era vase by important Japanese Bronze artist Yamamoto Junmin. A peaceful cluster of homes blanketed in snow by Shirakura Niho enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kamo Sekkei (Kamo in Snow). This is likely an image from very close to the artists heart, he lived west of the Kamo River in Kyoto, and one can imagine this being one of the bridges spanning that river he has seen out on a winter day.
