A pair of nicely patinated Thinbladed Danish neolithic axes dating to the Singlegrave period, 3rd mill BC.

Lot consist of an unpolished, thinbutted type, and polished thickbutted type. But the smaller size indicates, that they were for a specific purpose in Antiquity, probably for precision wood-working.

Comes with old collection tag on the grey axe.

This is an authentic neolithic nephrite jade adze/chisel, measuring some 9" (22cm) in length and 1" (2.5cm) in width. A heavy, substantial piece, guaranteed ancient. The stone is a beautiful deep green with substantial dark inclusions. The tapered end shows apparent signs of use.

This is an authentic, ancient Chinese Nephrite Jade ritual object known as a Cong, dating to the Late Neolithic Period, 2100-1600BCE. The piece is quite substantial, measuring 4" in height by 3-1/8" in width. PLEASE NOTE: if you collect in this area, you are undoubtedly aware that the market is flooded with later copies and fakes, often labeled "archaistic" and selling for relatively low prices...

This is a large and heavy ancient Chinese nephrite scepter or adze.Measuring slightly more than a foot in length, the piece has two beveled ends, suggesting that it may have been intended for actual use, as opposed to a ritual item. As you will see in the photographs, there is a shallow groove that runs the entire length of the piece, possibly for attaching or securing some sort of handle (?). The stone itself is a mottled green and brown nephrite. Guaranteed ancient.

A beautifully polished ritual hand axe in a mottled green nephrite with lighter inclusions dating to the late Neolithic period, circa 3500-2500BCE. Looking at the piece you can almost gain the impression of looking down at the sea from a great height, with scattered bits of land. A truly beautiful stone. An ancient Egyptian white steatite scarab, with finely engraved anatomical features such as clypeus, prothorax and elytra. The reverse is detailed with hieroglyphs, including the engraved depiction of a beetle scarab with the sun disk, a basket, a feather of Maat and a papyrus stem. The amulet is pierced longitudinally for suspension.
