Antique Japanese chop case made of boxwood and carved with a beautiful lady. The Inside of the box is still coated with powdered orange-red seal ink, at the base of the box is a semi circular bead made of amber, the top of the box is closed with a bead of bone and a smaller one of coral, the toggle is the shell of a cone snail, the sea creature hunts with a venomous barb. Chinese silver mug, ca 1865. Straight and upward tapering sides with dense low-relief frieze: Spearmen and swordsmen on foot and horse thrust and lunge and, in some cases, fall in battle. Applied armorial shield with engraved presentation dated “May 4th 1865”. S-scroll handle in form of scaly dragon with horned head peering over rim. Marked. Very good condition with deep patina.

This is a thinly potted tea cup depicting the Buddhist's eight auspicious signs which is found on the sole of Buddha's feet. They are the mystic knot, fish, wheel of the law, lotus, canopy, unbrella, conch shell and the jar. The tea cup stand on a short recessed foot-rim and into a U-shaped body and then with an everted mouth rim. On the cover of the tea cup, it is surrounded by the ruyi motive all around and four emblem of the auspicious signs...

Elegant pair of Chinese export porcelain soup plates decorated with a floral scene in the famille rose palette. Pheasants, beetles and butterflies are scattered among the pink peonies, orange pomegranates and blue-green bamboo stalks. The rim is decorated with a striking band of blue and gold strapwork in the Persian taste. The contrast of the restrained formal border pattern against the exuberant naturalistic design of the bowl is striking.

A sublime Korean celadon bowl with a flower and scrolling vine motif imprinted on the inside of the bowl bordered with an incised line below the rim. The grey green glaze displays a dense web or craze of lines. Korean celadon wares have been favored by the Korean court and by the Japanese, who call it Korai Seiji. The pieces were used in chanoyu as tea bowls and as bowls for sweets. Age: Goreyo Dynasty. Size: Height: 3" Diameter: 7.5"

Box and its tray in black lacquered wood decorated with bindweed in gold and silver powdered lacquer. Details of gold squares. Black interior. Nice finish. No signature. Japanese work from the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century, Meiji or Showa period. Good condition except for some wear on the corners visible in the photos. No catering.

A big jar yue ware decorated with four lugs and double spouted. Tang dynasty. 26cm body diameter. 23cm high. Good conditions, only found one small chipped at the mouth rim.

Japanese dark Kiri wood Merchant's display document box and shelves with drawers, Meiji period, Ca. 1880, 19" high, 20" wide, 7" deep, two(2) shelves above three(3) small drawers, two(2) larger drawers at the bottom, all the drawers have brass round knob. The grains are beautiful and very decorative cut out design of pine tree and other Japanese design on the both side...

Twelve(12) Tiffany retailed English Mintons Porcelain Dinner Plates, Ca. 1912-1950, 10 1/4" diameter, Burgundy wine color with encrusted raised Gold border and pale Lemon color wide rim. Marked "Mintons Tiffany & Co. New York, Made in England" on the bottom with raised purple color glove. The condition is good.

Nice 6” plate in the “Horse Chestnut” pattern by Dedham Pottery. The crackling is very even and the blue is strong. The back has both the ink stamp and the incised rabbit mark.

Origin: America, 1896-1928. Condition: a hairline is visible on the back; a ¼” nick on the rim. Size: 6” diameter.

An antique Japanese Kotansu for traveling administrators made of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. All original hand forged iron hardware including the Hirute style handles. Unusual dual opening drawer allowed two administrators on each side of the tansu to access the same drawers and supplies. Family crest on the door.

Decorated under the glaze with stylized patterns and concentric circles in iron oxide. Skillfully wheel-thrown and rests on a slightly flaring foot. Well-formed lid is surmounted by a circular knop with a yellowish-brown iron glaze. The interior and foot are unglazed. There are minor areas of glaze degradation on the top of the lid from burial. Some minor wear, small old chips to the interior lip of the bowl. Some evidence of burial earth remaining...

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. It measures 8 ¾ inches in diameter. The plate is made of fine, white bone china. The rim has a rococo style. It is elaborately hand enameled with raised paste gilding. There are urns overflowing with fruits and flowers.
