A pair of antique Chinese late 19th century Qing Dynasty pair of finely hand carved and silver inlaid rosewood sculptures, each carved with a young woman and the infant seated on the back of a water buffalo, inlaid with ornately twisted silver wire, on its integral elaborately carved base.
CONDITION: The sculptures are in good condition overall, except for minor damages such as a small chip on the corner of the base of one figure, some slight losses to the silver wire inlay, and minor age ...
Large terracotta bull with prominent horns and a pronounced hump on the back. The holes for the wheel axles on the integrated base are indicative of a child's toy.
Also the small hole at the very front of the base, which was used to attach a pull cord.

Chogappo made of fragments of hemp which is recycled from old textiles. Both warps and wefts are hand-plied. Pojagi" is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma, ramie or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). A lovely large Assyro-Babylonian stamp seal with a particlarly interesting shape, carved of fine smoky grey calchedony, c. 9th.-7th. cent. BC.
The scaraboid is carved almost like an oval hat with a pointy raised center and sides tappering inwards.
The engraving on the base is of a large seated winged animal in the drill style.

A Tang Changsha bowl from batu hitam shipwreck belitung. Bowl is in good condition with minor degradation glaze at the rim, small chipped at the rim, no crack, no restoration. Size: 15 cm diameter.
Early 20th century Chinese horn cylindrical seal with very elegantly and crisply carved Chinese characters on the base and traces of red seal paste in the grooves. The impression of the seal is shown on Enlargement 1. Beautiful dark dense horn, natural imperfections in the material. Mellow patina, overall in very good condition. Very nice object for scholar’s table. Height 2 3/16 inches, diameter 9/16 inches.
Japanese Takeda doll, Benkei. We originaly thought this doll was Benkei but somehow he was changed into to Samurai Kiyomasa (16 to 17th century samurai general). We should be correcting or leave him as is with a tiger. Circa Meiji period (1868-1912). 15 inches tall, 14 1/2 inches across platform.

The seal of a hemispheric design that became popular in the 1st. mill. BC. The image is interesting since it shows a Bull butting left with a bird on it's shoulder, leaf above and unidentiofied object before.
