Lovely Qing Dynasty pendant of a monkey on a leaf, “staring at the moon”, carved from carnelian. An unusually fat piece with a rich dark color rarely seen in Chinese carnelian. The ground fabric of this man's garment is a light, greyish silk damask with stylized endless knot pattern. The front overlap closing is fastened with five pierced gilt metal ball buttons. Dark midnight baby blue with sparrows flying amidst bamboo, with chrysanthemum flowers in exquisite detail, Top and bottom rims with special lapid in beautiful hues of orange, purples and greens. Large Chinese Qing Dynasty Carved & Painted Pottery Floral Tile
This decorative pottery tile was made during the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912). It is made from a dense grey pottery. The surface has been carved with an attractive floral design featuring two flower blossoms within a circular border. It has been cold-painted with various coloured pigments. It would once have been part of a series of similar tiles adorning a wall.
It is quite large, measuring around 27 cm (10.5 inches) square...
Chinese pair of Famille Verte porcelain plates with blue glaze and color overglaze on white ground, design of fish and underwater plants, each plate has delicately scalloped surface radiating outward, Kangxi Period, mark on bottom, circa 1700.

Distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of little iron bearing, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body, trimmed with a potters knife (hera) is covered with the typical, glossy black iron oxide inside and outside. Here it is a rarely seen dark brown due to a lack of manganese.
A window on the side has been left unglazed for decoration in iron oxide engobe under a clear ash glaze in a form of straight and wavy lines. This is a typical Momoyama design...
19th century Chinese soapstone seal of classic square section. First catalogue photo includes the image of the printing surface flipped left to right to show what the imprint of the seal will look like. Very nice cream and brown stone, the bottom is carved with two characters, old dried red seal paste in the grooves. Overall in excellent condition, very nice scholar’s object. Height 2 1/4 inches.
During the Qing Dynasty, the feathers of the kingfisher bird were used to create ornaments for woman to attach to clothing and/or wear in their hair...
Through the 1800's These ornaments were made and formed with heavy paper (light weight cardboard...)
They had large areas of feathers and the edges of the paper form were bordered with gold paint...and the ornaments were often domed
By the early 1900's the bird were becoming rare almost extinct ...so intricate and smaller sections of fea...
