A very rare Kakiemon moulded dish, ozara, in a nigoshide type porcelain body dating from the first period of the Kakiemon kiln at Nangawara. The dish is moulded with various motifs and symbols of Longevity, including, a pair of cranes, pine, bamboo, a minogame, and prunus, and a pair of precious objects an artemesin leaf combined with a flywhisk. In between the framed motifs various forms of yoraku, pendant Buddhist jewels...

A Dayak sword - Mandau - with rattan bound deer antler handle in the form of a finely carved zoomorphic (possibly deer's) head. The iron blade is engraved with stylized scrolling vine decoration. This item was made (and used) during either the 19th or very early 20th Century. Condition: very good, but the sword is without its scabbard and the bade has seen much use, having many nicks to the cutting edge; also much of the decorative brass inlay to the blade is missing...

A rare, attractively patinated, small bronze figure depicting the Ancient Egyptian cat goddess, Bast. This item was made in Egypt during the Late Dynastic Period (664-332 BC). Condition: much of the surface is oxidized and is degraded in places and there is extensive malachite encrustation. 4cm (1.6 inches) high.

A well carved hardwood figure of an emmaciated aescetic, probably depicting the Chinese Daoist Immortal Li Tieguai. This item was made in China, probably for export, during either the late 19th or early 20th century. Condition: there is a small old chip to one finger and an old age crack to the base; otherwise excellent. 27cm (10.5 inches} high.

The Hindu god is standing on a corpse and holding the snake ("naga") in his right hand, a skull cap ("kapala") in his left hand, and his weapons in his other two hands. This Olmec translucent jade figure is 1 7/8" long. The bottom was broken off in antiquity which allows one to peer into its ancient patina and jade composition and also keeps the price affordable. The drill hole is original which is important as it is the best place to look at for authenticity. I had a jeweler install a modern 14K gold loop so I could wear it. It has excellent provenance which goes to the buyer.

The light body is covered with a clear, little greyish ash glaze, reacting with the iron oxide in the body to develop the pink spots typical for that kind of Gohon bowls...

A Very Rare/Fine Korean Punchong Bowl Painted with Fish in Underglaze Iron black-15th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 15th century. Thin potted, shallow and circular formed bowl applied with light blue tinged, crackled and transparent white glaze over the surfaces evenly on interiors and exteriors, unglazed base with flat bottom, its high light is the large fish painted in underglaze dark black by a skilled patinter with patina in age and use...

A kozuka with gilt and silvered bronze decoration of a general's baton and banner on dark patinated bronze nanako ('fish roe' textured ground.) The utility knife handle with shakudo (a pickled gold and copper alloy) back and sides. Surfaces showing wear and slight distress from use but in fairly good and serviceable condition. Could benefit from a light cleaning and oiling. Length, little more than 3 3/4 inches (9.53 cm)

Ao-Oribe Chawan of Early Edo Period

Little distorted half cylinder shaped (kutsugata) tea bowl made of light, coarse, unrefined Mino clay. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical green copper oxide glaze inside and outside. A 'window' on the side has been left unglazed for decoration in iron oxide engobe under a clear ash glaze in a pattern squares and triangles. This is a typical late Momoyama design...
