Rare libation bowl with twelve egg-shaped cavities around the central omphalos. The recesses served to hold votive eggs.
On the inside of the segmented rim twelve neatly modeled youthful heads with Phrygian caps.
Egg-and-dart decoration along the rim, on top and around the base of the omphalos.
The surface is covered with a yellow wash to imitate metal prototypes...

Almost square hand-made embroidery. On a background of green satin silk two lion dogs, or foo dogs, are playing with a ball and each other between peonies and other flowers, next to a rock formation, a bat in the upper right corner. They are embroidered by hand with bright colors of silk in straight stiches and looped stiches, the lions detailed and outlined with gold-thread, which are twisted silk threads wrapped in thin gold foil...

If you are tired of the mundane, normal, and ho-hum, you must consider this antique tin wall sconce. I was gob smacked when I first saw it. It is intricately stamped with sun flowers, fruits, and foliage, and it is large. In the center is a concave recession which may have been for its reflector. 18th century or earlier Tibetan carnelian agate dzi bead with geometric designs of lines and dots. Dzi beads are believed to hold magical properties and are worn as amulets protecting from demons, bringing prosperity, overcoming negative forces, clearing obstacles, increasing merits & longevity. An exceptional stamp seal in a fine harder greyish green stone, Anatolia / Northern Syria c. 4th. millenium BC.

The base of the seal is engraved with a fantastic and very graphical depiction of a flock of birds in flight.

Two with monochrome silk or cotton lining, the comb's pouch lined with printed cotton "qalamkar", this one with a later snap closure. Cast pewter dropper in the shape of a doe. The animal is lying down, it is hollow and its mouth is pierced with a hole letting the water flow drop by drop. A leg is broken but is easily repairable, we can do this free of charge on request. The pewter seems covered in places with a thin layer of lacquer, or is it an old deposit of smoke, dust and oxides due to age. Probably Chinese work, of undetermined period with precision, but most certainly old. Qing period...
