An antique Japanese Choba Tansu (merchant chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Original hand forged iron hardware with Kaute style handles. 6 drawers of varying sizes with a pair of sliding doors and a security door that hides 2 additional drawers and a secret box where valuables were kept.
This Tansu would make a perfect side chest or nightstand.
Age: Edo Period (1800-1850)

A superb quality and extremely large for type decorative brass dish or Baptismal dish, as it's also called, Nuremburg, 16th.-17th. century.
With it's highly unusual size of 52 cm. and the fine execution, this dish comes from a very rich family estate. The dish shows a high-born renaissance lady in the center with well executed incised concentrhic decoration at the fan. Lovely deep black patina on the backside.

A tanged 'Luristan' bronze dagger from Ancient Near East, Caspian Sea Area, Bronze age, dating to 2nd mill BC.
The dagger with rounded shoulders, a short tang and central midrib. The top of the blade has two holes for fastening rivets.
Length: c. 26,5 cm.
Condition: Fine green patina with some roughness to the edges. The blade has a bend at the the tip, as seen on pictures.

A large and beautiful dark green patinated tanged bronze short sword from Ancient Near East dating to the early 1st. mill BC. Commonly termed 'Luristani' by dealers and collectors.
An elaborate and cast sword blade in a quite broad design. Round shoulders and two prominent central midribs running in the full length of the blade.

Rare alabastron of conical shape and flat base, disk mouth and strap handle.
Decorated with brown and reddish bands around the body. Near the bottom a reserved band with hooks (stylized running dogs). Brown tongues on neck and collar, brown bars on the handle.
Similar to the Egg of Columbus, this type of flat-bottomed alabastron needs no additional support to stand upright.
The rarity of Columbus alabastra is noteworthy.

Excellent quality dark patina bronze okimono depicting the study of a powerful panther.
The posture is engaging with the hind legs bent, tail curled upwards and the body in an oblique position. The jaws are wide open and show the animal's teeth, while the whiskers are in relief.
The streaks of the fur are depicted in a masterly way and highlighted in a different patina even to the touch...

This is an authentic Tibetan cast bronze Buddha, shown in the "earth-touching" gesture,witnessing his divinity, and sealed with a double-dorje (vajra) impressed mark. A Chinese, black glazed, stem cup; Yuan dynasty. Elegantly potted; rising from it's slightly flared foot, to the U-shaped bowl with an everted rim. The iron-rich black glaze appears brown at the rim and above the foot, where it terminates.
