Outside cloth of yogi which is one kind of futon in the shape of kimono, made of hand-spun cotton and vegetable indigo dye. It has tsutsugaki (glue-resist dyeing) "takara-zukushi" (various treasures) design. In good condition as a whole but has three mending patches in front and a few stains. A rectangular bronze suiban decorated with patterns of swimming Koi in fast flowing water. The design apparently largely cold worked rather than cast and patinated with a reddish brown finish. The moulded handles in the form of Kuwai, the marshland Japanese Arrowhead plant. The suiban measures 18.5cm long, excluding the handles, and 13cm wide and stands 7.2cm high to the rim and weighs approximately 1.1kg. The bronze is in good, sound condition. It dates to the late Meji period...

Shallow bowl-shaped dish is raised on a tall foot and is decorated in underglaze blue with a branch of cherry blossoms encircling the interior. The painting is well-executed and the image is possibly based on a textile design. The underside is painted with three chrysanthemum sprays and the foot is decorated with the characteristic comb tooth pattern. Dish is glazed overall in a clear glaze leaving only the footring unglazed exposing the fine porcelain paste...

This is a fine Japanese Imari bowl purchased a few years back from a collection belonging to a San Francisco Museum. The inventory numbers on this deaccessioned piece can be seen on the underside of the bowl. The bowl is beautiful and has a wonderful fluted design. A simple Chinese celadon charger incised with motifs of scrolling vines and flowers. Celadon wares were developed in China during the Song Dynasty and were traded throughout East Asia. The simple designs and colors is what made celadons popular throughout the centuries. Age: 19th-20th century. Size: diameter: 13.75" height: 2.5"

A wonderful late 19th or very early 20th century sheet iron weathervane in the form of a sperm whale silhouette. The vane is hand sawn and retains its old coat of oxidized green paint (may be original, but appears to be a second coat). One side still has its black painted eye. The silhouette is attached to its original copper mounting pole. Found in Maine.

A rare small wine cup painted with stylized lotus scrolls in underglaze blue. The base carries the six character mark of the Guangxu emperor and it was made during his reign (1875-1908). An antique Japanese Kururi Tansu (apothecary chest for herbs and medicine) made of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood and finished in a Negoro lacquer. 30 drawers each with an iron ring pull. It features two side carrying handles and a custom-made raised stand.

This rectangular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 3 ¼” long, 2” wide and 3/16” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a stylized dragon surrounded by Ling Zhi (lucky mushroom). Aside from a small chip (less than 1/8” long) on the side, it is in good condition.

Unsigned, this 10" Mont Joye crystal cameo glass vase is beautifully hand enameled in a pattern of orchids over a clear "chipped ice" ground. Circa 1910

Condition: Excellent, no damage or repairs. There is slight age wear to the polished pontil base and wear to the gilded inner rim in spots, revealing the green enamel undercoat, as illustrated in the sixth photograph.

Kasuri (ikat) panel remnant with design of chrysanthemums, butterflies, and geometric squares. Japan, ca. Meji Era, 1868-1912. H.7.5"(19cm) x W.11.75"(32cm,) small 1.5cm repair patch in center. This is a wonderful example of mingei craft with a very playful image. Butterflies exist in Japanese folk imagery, but are not so common. This piece would be lovely framed.

Chinese Qing Era gilt hairpin with the flora design jade , overall look very much like general Guan Yu 'a weapon from the classic romance of the three kingdoms

This late 19th or early 20th century ivory carved Shou Xin (or Shou Lao, the symbol of longevity) is 12” high, 3” wide and 2 ½” thick. It depicts Shou Xin holding a peach in one hand and dragon head cane in the other. It is in excellent condition.
