Very rare heavy hardwood mask, with strong features in relief, an incised sacred trident on its forehead (the traditional weapon of Hindu god Shiva), round metal added eyes, large nose and mouth. Beautiful age patina, with traces of original pigments meant to enhance the mask features. Himalayan region, early 20th century. Height: 27 centimeters. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Old accidents which do not impair the mask beauty and unique quality, otherwise very good condition

A small enamelled copper box, the cover depicting a grasshopper or cricket amongst grasses and flowers. The base carries a "CHINA" stamp which dates it to post 1890. This item was probably made circa 1900, during the latter years of the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Japanese Satsuma gourd vase; depicts two panels of Geisha in domestic and garden settings; all surrounded by a mass of wisteria blooms; the base rim is decorated with waves over Greek hatch work while the top rim shows a border of gilt lappets above polychrome millefleur, all above ruyi gilt diapers; signed Hozan on the base; good condition

Chinese cloisonné and bronze figure of a standing cockerel. Flourishes of elaborate plumage are decorated with scrolling vines and tiny circles of colorful enamel on a turquoise blue ground. The feet of the rooster are connected to the lid of an oval shaped box which is decorated to match the cloisonné on the body of the rooster.

A six-sided porcelain wine pot warmer painted in Qianjiang style with a scene on one side from a Chinese opera relating to stories from the Three Kingdoms period. On the other side is a poem which we have, as yet, been unable to read. It is signed and dated to 1903. Condition - very good - there are glaze imperfections and there are two chips to the base rim (please view enlargement 2); no further damages and no restoration...

This is an elegant 19th Century Victorian ivory page turner, the handle embellished with delicately carved flowers and C scrolls. The Victorians used page turners to protect the pages of valuable books from damage; they were also used to protect the hands from newsprint. Measurement: length: 12 inches. Condition: excellent; no chips or cracks; some yellow age spots on the blade.

This is a wonderful clock made of bronze and rouge marble depicting a lion pulling a cherub in a chariot over the tomb of Napoleon. It measures 17" long x 17" tall x 6" deep. The only marks I could find on it, which are shown in the photos, are numbers and an award that it won in France. It works beautifully and is in excellent condition.

This is a 2 section antique Japanese Kansai Mizuya (Kitchen) tansu made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. Both original hand forged iron hardware and rare copper hand twisted door netting.

This chest was made for the Japanese kitchen to store jars of water, chopsticks, utensils for cooking and dishes. Its elegant design would suit any home decor as well as add storage functionality.

Behind the two sets of large sliding doors are areas for spacious storage while the small sliding doors hide two small side by side drawers...

A Dayak sword - Mandau - with rattan bound deer antler handle in the form of a finely carved zoomorphic (possibly deer's) head. The iron blade is engraved with stylized scrolling vine decoration. This item was made (and used) during either the 19th or very early 20th Century. Condition: very good, but the sword is without its scabbard and the bade has seen much use, having many nicks to the cutting edge; also much of the decorative brass inlay to the blade is missing...
