This porcelain box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords on the bottom. The box measures 4 1/2” long, 3” wide and 2 1/2” deep, The lid had a finely hand painted bull finch bir perched in a blue berry branch. The coloring is vibrant and the style realistic. Little flying insects dot the bottom half of the box. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Very slight wear to gilding on edge. There are no other defects.

Extraordinary late 18th century German silver sugar scissors in the form of a circus monkey. The monkey is wearing a harlequin suit and a bonnet and is grasping two rings that, upon closer inspection, are serpents. DESCRIPTION: A red and gilt ink cake in the form of a turtle with a curled snake on its back. In ancient China, the tortoise and the snake were thought to be spiritual creatures symbolizing longevity. Both the front and back have been finely pressed in raised relief with gilt accents. One of the treasures of the Chinese scholar’s studio, this ink cake is in excellent condition, in its original box, and dates from the first quarter of the 20th C. or earlier. DIMENSIONS: 3” long (7.7 cm).

Circa 1840, English porcelain Staffordshire quill pen holder depicting a confetti coleslaw nest with a dove protecting 2 hatchlings from a snake. The inkwell has one hole for the quill and is in excellent condition. Any imperfections are firing flaws, typical of early Staffordshire pieces. Measures about 2.5" high and 2.75" diameter.

This absolutely charming pair of baby booties is from the late Qing dynasty. They are made of silk satin ivory colored fabric and have a large satin stitched butterfly on each side. The front of the booties have an appliqued butterfly with tassles and pompoms. They are in pristine condition with the exception of the one missing pompom on one bootie.

A fun pressed brass picture frame in the form of an early automobile. The frame is cleverly designed with vanishing point perspective to appear three dimensional. Apparently, it was originally a desk calendar and the original calendar inserts from 1907 have been used as a backing for the current photograph.
