Japanese inro with a large standing bull, frontally positioned with head lowered and looking ahead at the viewer. From the ring in his nose is a rope leading off to the side. The reverse image is a scene, entirely in gold lacquer, of rolling hills and pine saplings in the foreground. The inro opens to reveal a compartment lacquered red on the inside with a small removable inset tray.

A beautiful pair of Chinese end tables with gorgeous dark burl front drawers, burl top, and sides with a warm rosewood frame. The drawers have metal pulls and have a deep red interior. Antique Chinese porcelain brush washer. Semi-conical form with doucai decoration of swirling clouds. Very fine lines with subtle overglaze colors on a white ground. The doucai technique allows for controlled details and vibrant colors as the outlines are first painted on as a blue underglaze and then fired. After this step, the colors are applied using lovely enamel overglazes and the object is fired again at a lower temperature...

Unusual Japanese red lacquered kiri wood arrow (ya) case, with gilt paulownia mon (crest) on its lid and sides. There underside of the lid has calligraphy. Iron hardware on lid and sides.

Pair of Victorian Classical sterling silver compotes. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Each: Round solid well and concave sides with pierced leafing scrollwork; raised foot. Rims have applied leafing scrollwork and buds that suggest the influence of Chrysanthemum. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, pattern no. 8743, and director’s letter T (1892-1902). Very good condition.

This is a set of twelve late Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Mille Fleurs (thousand flowers) plates. Each plate is 1” high and 7 1/2” in diameter. A large pink peony appears in the center of each plate; chrysanthemum, lily, hibiscus, iris and several unknown flowers fill the tops of the plates. There are Guang Xu (1875~1908) marks and three separate floral (peony) designs on the back. The workmanship is elegant. The gold edging on the rims has slightly rubbed off...

Amazing antique Chinese porcelain dish. Beautifully formed, glazed with a rich monochrome turquoise color. Standing on four small unglazed feet. Intricately decorated with tiny drum-like rivets around the outer edge and on the inside with raised stylized 5-bat motif around a central prosperity symbol. The underside has an incised 6 character Qianlong zhuanzhu mark (1735-1796) or later.

Antique Japanese Satsuma pottery group of three fu-dogs wrestling. Each of the three seems to be attacking another in this playful scene. A medium sized fu-dog lays with it's back on the ground, fending off the largest of the group who, in turn, has a smaller fu-dog biting his ear.
