Chinese bamboo lidded round box; lovely patina in excellent condition

A special Philippine wooden Santo of St. Rocco obtained in the Philippines in the 1980's. Painted wood carving of figure, home ecoration Estimated to be 19th Century. Nine (9) inches in length.

A very rare small box, made of embossed brass, lavishly decorated with various designs on its lid and body. On the lower part of its body the design is a series of "niches" containing effigies of deities and also the portrait in profile of an important person, probably a king. Superb dark-green and reddish patina. Tibetan characters beneath. Tibet, 17th century. Height: 3 3/8" (8,7 cm). il. Superbe patine.

A Victorian sterling silver ornate floral hand mirror circa 1890 1900. This antique 10-1/2" x 5-3/4" dresser set piece has a she ield cartouche that has not had a monogram. The silver marks are usually found near the base of the mirror at the handle, which in this case appears to have been shortened slightly, you can see a separate line, obscuring the hallmarks. The mirror was tested and it does test as sterling silver. Greatly resembles older Kirk or Steiff silver...

This is a rare and tattered tunobukuro bag textile made from old hemp and rags from the Meiji period (1868-1911). This is the bag you put the sweetfish in after you catch them. This tiny handsewn patch work quilt has just on square that has a little hole. One of the long sides the edge has a bit out of it, maybe it caught on something. The sewing is somewhat unskilled and appears to have been a labor of love rather than perfection. It has a lot of charm and nice enough to be uses on a doll bed or hung on a wall. The fabric backing the quilt is very fragile and fraying but it is nice that it doesn't affect the front...

Chinese Neolithic Burnished Pottery Jar - Qijia Culture (c. 2050 - 1700 BC)

This rare and attractively-shaped pottery jar was made around 4,000 years ago by peoples of the Neolithic Qijia Culture (c. 2050 - 1700 BC), from what is now eastern Gansu province, China. They produced a variety of pottery vessels including cord-impressed pottery of many shapes and sizes as well as higher-fired jars such as this...

Terrific figural porcelain creamer in the form of a lobster. This example has very nice painted details--note how the paint fades from red to pink to white at the edges of the claws. The bottom is stamped with the blue mark.

Origin: Germany, circa 1919. Condition: excellent, only a few tiny paint scrapes; no chips or cracks. Size: 4" high, 5" across.

Chinese Jin Dynasty Pottery Tile - Entertainer (AD 1115 - 1234)

This moulded and "heavily-potted" pottery tile was made during the Jin Dynasty (AD 1115 - 1234) and has been excavated from Shanxi province in the northern region of China...

A watch fob made up of 4 Satsuma decorative ceramic rounds with metal surrounds and chains. The backs of the mountings have the impressed Satsuma mark. The fob measures about 5" long, and the largest round measures about 1". The fob dates to the late 19th/early 20th Centuries. The condition is excellent/perfect. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

An Arita porcelain whistle in the form of a reclining Chinese boy. Decorated in Kakiemon-type underglaze blue, green and iron-red enamels. Circa 1680 ~ 1700.

A similar whistle is illustrated in Christiaan J. A. Jorg’s ‘Fine & Curious, Japanese Export Porcelain in Dutch Collections.’

Interesting huge seal from the Oberländer collection. It was described as unidentified and probably ceramic, but to us it looks like Limestone, but we're not certain. At first glance it looks like a Pre-Columbian seal, but details doesn't compute and there were no Pre-Columbian seals in the collection, so it could be from Mesopotamia / Western Asia, we're not certain.

It's sold as guaranteed ancient and 800+ years old.

Interesting massive seal with a provenance going back to the French Dealer j. Vinchon 1973. Greenstone seal with stylized engravings in the base and worn through handle from extensive use. Very early dating to the 5th. mill. BC or even earlier!

A large, Rubina, overshot, Bohemian glass jug, made likely by Harrach, around 1880. The jug is 10 inches (25,5 cm) tall and 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) wide (to handle-tip). Except for a small rim-chip, the jug is in good condition. Unpolished, recessed pontil. Unmarked - attributed to Harrach. The glass fluoresces in a gentle green coloration when subjected to black-light - typicall of 19th century soda-lime glass objects.

Chinese Blue and White Tea Jar, Tea Caddy, Ca. 1920, 4 1/2" high, 3 3/4" wide-widest part, 1 3/8" diameter-top rim, 2 1/4" diameter-bottom Rim, with underglaze blue design of a man holding flower under the Willow Tree. stains around the unglazed rim, old hairline about 1/8" long on the unglazed bottom rim.
