The saddle seat is Leather and decorated with small tuffs of wool yarn and strips of flat metal (presumed low grade silver) which are embed into the leather in an ornate geometric design.
I replaced the tie which secured the front of the seat to the metal saddle tree...the original cord was literally falling apart...Limited research indicates this saddle was from Rajastan India.

Bowl is in good condition with minor damage at the rim restored and faint hairline at the rim.

According to old Chinese legend, only a mighty carp can climb the upstream of the Yellow River where water plunges a hundred feet, turning into a water fall. When it does happen, a carp can turn into a dragon and is able to ascend to heaven. Based on the legend, a task that seems almost impossible to attain is called ‘passing the Dragon Gate’...
This unusually shaped carved bone snuff bottle is a late Meiji period (1867~1911) product. It is 2 3/4” long, 1 ¼” wide and ¾” thick. It depicts a curled shrimp as the body of snuff bottle. The bamboo spoon is a replacement. It has a great patina and is in great condition.

This is Dramatic Hagoromo Motif kabuki Uchikake kimono in the late Edo period.(1800-1867)
It all is expressed with embroidery. It is wonderful beautiful uchikake kimono.
It does not have a stain. It has few small small holes in lining cloth. It has the portion from which slight embroidery separated. However, it is not conspicuous. Its design is bold and artistic! It is really an wearable art!
I recommend very excellent uchikakekimono to your collection.

Old silk kesa, an outer garment worn by Japanese Buddhist priests. Kesas were originally made from old scraps of material donated to the temples. The scraps became finer and quite luxious with time. People who gave to Buddhist institutions were often keen to give very expensive items, so some fabulous kesas were created from wonderful silk brocades. This could also mean that the wealthier temples ended up collecting better fabrics or were able to send out for expensive custom made kesas...

A Yuan dynasty blue and white yuhuchun vase, rounded side with pear shape body and glazed base, vase decorated with fine Persian under glaze blue of lotus pond motif, upper part with raising leave motif, divided classic scroll and cloud motif.
Vase has been broken and professionally restored, still a very good piece for collection, picture before restoration available.

Sashiko stitched fabric. Tsutsugaki dyed cloth. Indigo background with red and white design. Two horizontal bands wrap around bottom of coat. Similar to reference work "Sumi Collection Hanten and Happi" coats on page 25. Used by firemen in late 19th century Japan to extinguish blazes. Hook and eye closure. Measures 49" sleeve to sleeve 49" long. Overall good condition, small wear on neck and side.

Indigo dyed (aizome) cotton "yutan", or covering cloth, stencil dyed with family crest of pine boughs flanking a "koto bashira", the bridge of a koto musical instrument. L.150cm (59") x W.129cm (50").
Such textiles were commissioned for use as bridal dowry pieces and covered the items taken to the new bride's home. The family crest may have been that of the bride's or groom's family, or possibly a combination of the two, depending on the rank or status of the families...
Decorated outside with chrysantemum scrolls, plantain leaves pattern round the neck, classic scrolls and a border of early lappets between two bulbs, and other a border early lappets on the lower base. Unglaze base.

Very well potted dishes with a very good pale bluegreen Celadon colour. The colour of the left side piece still better then the already very good colour of the right side piece. Unfortunately my images are not able to show the real beauty of the colour.

It is indigo dyeing Patched Sashiko-stitch beautiful BORO kimono of very rare and amazing in the Edo era . This is all an original state.This can enjoy both sides. As for this, the good cotton of a texture spun by hand in the Edo era is used. This was colored into Katazome, Shibori, solid color with an indigo plant of nature. This was found in the very rich area of the Tohoku district. It was food, money and an easy heart. As for this, hemp thread is used all for Sashiko...
A very rare and unusual Yuan dynasty qingbai glaze large cover box with human motif, rounded side with domed shape and unglazed base, upper part decorated with qilin motif playing ball, inner part with human motif riding horse and large Guanyin head motif, sides with vertical ribbing, cover box is excavated from trowulan east java.
Cover box is in good condition with restoration part on the cover and human motif, no damage at the lower part.
