The axe has a rarely seen feature with a carved ring in the middle of the head.
Most thinbladed axes doesn't have this kind of fitting, so this specimen must have been fastened to the shaft in a different way than usual. Maybe used as an adze.

Unpolished axe with nice proprotions and clear 'seams' along the edges. Very nice workmanship.
Thinbutted axes were developed to help neolithic people to clear the forest to prepare the land for farming. The largest specimens - up to 40 cm - were put down in marches as offers.

A scarce set of four Danish Neolithic silex blades. Two daggers and two spear points, dating to Daggertime, 2200-2000 BC.
The blades are all very thin and skillfully knapped in antiquity. Two blades of lancet dagger type and two spear points / javelins.

An interesting small collection of Danish Neolithic / Mesolithic axes.
The lot consist of two early, Mesolithic axes from the hunter / gatherer period. Along with these, three smaller axes from later Neolithic period, 2500-2000 BC: A smaller thinbutted axe, a specialized small axe / chisel and a neolithic imitation of an early type of bronze axe.

A fine specimen of a Danish Neolithic Battle Mace, dating to Single Grave Period - c. 2800-2400 B.C.
The mace is carved from hardstone with an elliptical body. In the center a furrow - approx. 0,5 deep and 1 cm. wide - is carved, to make a secure fastening of the mace to the wooden shaft.
Size: 11 x 5 x 6 cm - weighing 720 gr.
Condition: A choice mace with very few imperfections. Nice patination.

A extremely rare Danish neolithic Daggeraxe from the Funnelbeaker culture dating to 3500-3000 BC.
The daggeraxes were mounted on shafts just like axes, and there and their use was connected to rituals and ceremonies as well as they were used as weapons in battle. Compared to daggers and axes, the daggeraxes were only made in very limited numbers.

A small set of three Danish Neolithic Axes, dating to 3rd-4th mill BC.
Lot consist of two polished and an unpolished axe.
The larger axe is a thinbutted type from the late 4th / early 3rd mill BC. The axe is almost completely polished on all four sides, which is a scarce feature. It also has writing in pencil the side - hard to read, though.
The two other axes are thinbladed in size and design.

2. A thinbladed axe, c 2500 BC - a period were the production of flint tools became more specialized. 12 cm. - 4,7 inches. Fully polished with nice and glossy grey patination.

This is also known as the perid of the 'Erteboelle'-culture, during which the use of hard stone for tools and weapons became more frequent.
All three axes a grinded to a cylindrical design, with an asymmetrical edge, suggesting they were mounted as adzes, on the woodden shaft in antiquity.

This is a large and heavy ancient Chinese nephrite scepter or adze.Measuring slightly more than a foot in length, the piece has two beveled ends, suggesting that it may have been intended for actual use, as opposed to a ritual item. As you will see in the photographs, there is a shallow groove that runs the entire length of the piece, possibly for attaching or securing some sort of handle (?). The stone itself is a mottled green and brown nephrite. Guaranteed ancient.
