An English Oak Inkstand from the Edwardian era, circa 1910. It is 9" x 6", with a decorated top to the inkwell. There is a slight crack in the glass (visible in the photo), but otherwise in fine condition.

This is a lovely ancient Egyptian Scarab, 800-664 BC?, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 5/8” long (16 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

Rare English Regency Hawksbill and Greenback Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy with ivory and pewter stringing, having cut corners and a bowed front panel with pressed tortoise in concentric ovals with fan corners and central inlaid silver oval with leafage border; the bowed lid surmounted by a ball finial and the whole raised on ball feet. 19th century wooden netsuke of sitting Okame snickering as she fondles a long stem of a mushroom in her hand. The netsuke is definitely of shunga type with not so subtle sexual connotation. Wonderfully carved (see her endearingly ugly face, hair arrangement and flowing lines of her kimono), beautiful patina, little nicks here and there. Height 1 13/16 inches.

This is a Japanese antique Edo Period tsutsugaki fireman sashiko coat textile. It is an item with the long and thickness that is very firm. Sashiko-cloth is sewn on the back and collar to represent affiliation and status. His position is sub-chief. It has a taste of the Edo period's long-term use.A bold rain dragon design. Japanese pair of round fish plates. The raised details of the fish is painted in blue glaze. Along the edges, an impressed pattern makes up the fish's dorsal and pectoral fins. On the bottom, the maker's mark is a tiny blue floret.

Chinese Qing dynasty incense burner bronze censer. Xuande mark. 12,5 cm mouth rim diameter. 18 cm wide from handle to handle. 6,7 cm high. censer has been cleaned and has smooth dent ( please see at the pictures ) no crack, no repair.

This is horse cover textile at the Meiji era.(1868-1912) It draws in the indigo dye by the technique of tsutsugaki. It is a very vivid, impressive motif. It is wonderful horse cover textile. This is the one in the Tohoku region. It uses it at the wedding. This is rolled in horse's trunk. The bride rides on this horse. There is little damage in the edge. There is a little stain. However, it doesn't stand out. Size:488cm/192.1" x 64cm/25.2"

Unusual Antique Japanese maki-e lacquer Jingasa (Samurai helmet) decorated in low relief lacquer work of a fierce looking red Oni with piercing gold eyes and teeth . A gilt lacquer mon, or family crest is seen below the Oni representing daffodils. The underside of the helmet is smooth, shiny black lacquer.

This very well carved early 20th century Japanese netsuke is 1 ¼ inches high, 1 ¾ inches wide and 1 1/8 inches thick. It depicts a demon sitting in a straw sandal. It is signed “Masatsugu” and is in great condition.

Early 20th century Chinese horn cylindrical seal with very elegantly and crisply carved Chinese characters on the base and traces of red seal paste in the grooves. Chinese antique bamboo sewing basket, interior design with character "Xi" and exterior with " Fu", Qing Dynasty . Size: Diameter of the basket is 13.25 inches and it stands 4 inches high, in very good condition.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch Dresden studio around 1900. The saucer has a diameter of 4 3/16 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is hand painted in fine detail. There are scenes of lovers in landscapes surrounded by garlands of colorful flowers. The rims are trimmed with delicate gilding. Condition: The rim of the cup has slight fading to the gilding mentioned for accuracy. It is hardly noticeable.

Extremely rare cloak pin cast in silver, Ancient Near East, 'Luristani', ca. 1200 to 800 BC.

While examining this massive cloak pin, we discovered that it is not made in the usual cuprite-red bronze alloy, but in silver! A elaborate and heavy cloak pin, cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) process with poppy flower shaped terminal.

This phenomenal 7 3/16" Llama Bone Flute is highly engraved with human effigy carvings with crown or headdress and was recovered in Pisac, Peru near Machu Picchu. It is highly polished. It is so translucent that when backlit with a flashlight, light passes through both sides of the bone. It has beautiful patina. A lot of work and pride went into creating this beauty. I purchased it from Jim Bennett who has written several books on detecting fakes and reproductions.
