Pair of Japanese iron tsuba (sword guard), mounted on a stand, dating from the 17th/19th century with Hidden Christian motifs. The first tsuba composed of three iron interlocking circles, the image of the Cross can be seen. The second iron tsuba has a very delicate wire design in the interior representing the Crown of Thorns, also has a cross in the overall pattern.

19th century finely hand-carved Japanese boxwood netsuke of a blind masseur or Totsuka Beggar crouching and trying to lift a stone, or possibly his hugely distended scrotum. He has the typical bump on his head. He squints as he attempts to lift the large object. He is wearing only a fundoshi. His right eye is inlaid with light colored horn. Excellent detail and patination.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1890. The plate measures 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The fine bone china is decorated with a Persian inspired design. The pale pink ground color is decorated with elaborate raised gilding. There are burgundy cut-outs outlined in beaded gilding and white enamel jewels. The design is dazzling.
Condition: There is minor wear to gilding on the rim that does not affect the beauty for display.

A wonderful example of an original Japanese Armored Safe chest. Constructed of hand selected and quartered sawn keyaki (zalkova hardwood) and hand forged iron hardware / fittings. Thick hinged door opens to reveal 4 individual drawers with secret compartment located under the largest (bottom) drawer. Internal drawers are made of original light kiri (paulownia) wood.

A MING SWATOW (ca. 1625) Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Plate with thick, shiny glaze, depicting a Phoenix in the center medallion surrounded by a border featuring auspicious symbols. The back side of the plate also has some decor. There are a few firing imperfections (unglazed well/spots) as shown in the photograph and some kiln sand/grit deposit on the back base of the plate, which is common in Ming ware and a sign of authenticity.
