A fine antique apothecary mortar in beautiful early brass/bronze alloy, Northern Europe, dated in the bottom to 1734!.
A very large and usual early type brass mortar with a corrosponding pestle, very decorative and a nice antique for both display and kitchen use. Note the pecular wide upper part, which we haven't seen before and must have been made in a few early years only during the 18th. century.

A fine example of an English lead metal antique air twist glass. The ogee bowl is above a multiple spiral air twist (MSAT) stem above a conical foot with a rough pontil.
The condition is excellent, with no chips, scratches, or restoration. Good color, striations, and tooling marks. The height is 6 1/8", with a bowl diameter of 2 1/8" and a foot diameter of 2 1/2".

Offered is an excellent and well-preserved 18th Century enamelware box from the Bilston area, circa 1780. This box is enameled on the sides and bottom in a deep royal blue, and is painted in enamels on the front with a theme of doves at the nest and the words "Esteem the Giver" (the "f" being used for the "s" at this date)...
A beautiful and uncommon Bow porcelain coffee cup done in the famille verte style, loosely depicting flowers in green, red, and blue. A workman's mark is on the bottom.
The condition is superb, with bright clear colors, and with no chips, cracks, paint loss, or restoration. The cup height is 2 3/16" and a diameter of 2 1/8".

An excellent shakudo tsuba inlaid with a "thousand flowers" decoration in gold, silver and sentoku. The technique is particular, the tsuba is first cast in shakudo with all the flowers in relief, then chiseled. Then each flower is covered with a thick sheet of metal, gold, silver or sentoku, this sheet is hammered on the sides of the flowers as one would border a bed sheet. Excellent work , exceedingly difficult more than inlaid...
Very beautiful tsuba in sentoku inlaid with shakudo, gold and silver by Jo-I, first-rank artist from the end of the 18th century. The funny subject represents a man driving demons out of his house by throwing beans on the ground. Excellent work, perfect finish. No restoration or hidden defects. Original patinas.

Very unusual and large 19th century Japanese lacquer ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) of ball shape with 2 flattened sides. The ojime is carved out of a block of lacquer material formed of different color layers as the leftover liquid lacquer was discarded by a lacquer artist, and then solidified. Very clever use of material, very rich play of colors, in excellent condition, beautiful patina. Height 1 inch.
A small Chinese porcelain bowl with the popular "nine peaches" decoration. The peach is the symbol for long life, timelessness, immortality and springtime. Circa 1900, Chinese export enamel trough planter with floral scenes in rock garden on a custom wood stand. The glaze on the exterior ground is a lovely pale turquoise, while the interior is a darker contrasting turquoise. The rim features fret key pattern in a vibrant translucent royal blue and the metal trim is silver which has darkened over time. In excellent condition, the planter measures 8" long, 5.5" wide, and 2.5" high. On stand measures just under 3.5".
