An antique Japanese 2 section Cha Tansu (tea display chest) made of Kaki (Persimmon), Tochi (Horse Chestnut) and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. Exquisite Chinese satin silk hand embroidered and hand sewn jacket and pleated skirt with drawstring waistband. Pristine condition, circa 1930s or 1940s, see last enlargement for reference. Antique Chinese carved bamboo bitong (brushpot). Carved with scenes of mountain landscapes and bamboo groves with figures engaged in various rural activities. The rim is carved with a scrolling key motif.

African antique mbulu ngulu reliquary guardian figure carved of wood and plated with textured copper. This figure is made by the Bakota (or Kota) people, a Bantu ethnic group from Gabon and Congo. Bakota people are known for these reliquary figures which were part of a powerful mystical order known as Bwete. This figure stands on a custom metal base.

A very attractive large Oak figure of a Catholic Benedictine monk, European, probably Germany or Holland, c. later 16th. century.

An interesting and rare stamp seal of a triangular form with a carved base and loop, Mesopotamia, c. 2nd. millenium BC.

The seal is particularly finely engraved with a horned animal and some interesting 'glyphs' in a freese above. With Egyptian inspiration and probably from the Middle Assyrian period, made close to the Egypt border.

A wonderful matching pair of Chinese pottery figures of male and female attendants. The figures date to Ming Dynasty 1368-1644 AD.

They are both dressed in robes glazed matching torqouise and dark blue colors. They are placed on plints and each carry a box in front of the chest. He wewars a black hat, and shea has an artfully styled hairdress. The heads are attachable.

Facial details were made with fragile pigment colors of which some remains.

A superb quality large pottery figure of a male attendant or official, dating to the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

The figure is placed on a high hexagonal plint and wears a fine two-colour blue and turquoise glazed robe. The unglazed areas have pigmented colors in red, black and white. Finely painted facial details.

The head is attachable as often seen on the largest figures from this period.

The figure is carrying a tray in front of his chest.
