A large and rare, early 19th C Gathering Basket from North Carolina of rectangle shape with 2 steamed and bent handles. In great condition, it is very tightly woven with a double wrapped rim. Basket is coated with cream colored paint, probably milk paint. Wood is unknown, possibly split oak. From the private collection of an appraiser of Early Americana. Measures 28" long, 16" wide, 12" high. Note: Basket depth measures 10", with handles 12".

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the 1890s. It measures 10 inches in diameter. The artist’s initials are on the back. The plate has twelve sides and has molded beading in the porcelain around the edge. It has a hand painted scene in the center. There is a hen and a rooster among a field of wild flowers. A very fine Nailsea-Stourbridge green bottle glass paperweight with a foiled flower pot design. A large central petunia-type flower arises on a slender stem from the well-formed pot, and is surrounded with two additional circlets of smaller flowers, four to each layer. This example is particularly nice with a good, clear gather of glass and a fine shape. The bottom has the rough pontil.

A rare massive Imari Charger made during the Royal Meiji period of Japan most likely for an Exhibition if not a special order. Most Imari pieces are much smaller.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory between 1847 and 1849. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches. The cup is 3 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/2 inches. The front of the cup has hand painted scene of a mountain lodge. The painting is highly detailed in vivid colors. There are two figures in the foreground with a dog and a person hanging out of a window...

The ground textile is a dark woolen flannel "inlaid" with pieces of colored fabric and embroidered in silk yarn in different colors. The embroideries from Rasht in Gilan Province were made by professional male embroiderers. Cotton lining, silk fringes. Dimension: diameter (without fringes): 142 cm, fringes: c. 8.5 cm long. Condition: fine, little faded, minimally stained.

Beautiful agate carved into a flower basket, extremely detailed. The basket has a handle with removable string attached. The basket itself has almost a flower pot shape to it, with a maze-like design carved around its sides. This old drum from Nepal was used for festival and carried in parades. The man would use the left hand to hold the drum by the handmade ropes across the back of the drum. He would use the right hand to strike the drum skin. The chains and metal bits hanging from the bottom would add an extra "jangle" sound while drum moving. Clearly made as folk art instrument, the drum is somewhat out of round and about 18" at the widest diameter.

A very large ceramic box in the shape of a peach that was used to decorate the ancestral altar. Such boxes were used to hold trinkets, precious offerings, and maybe incense when worshiping ones' ancestors. The inside of the box is divided and sealed with a green glaze. Antique Kilim runner of Turkish nomadic tribe origin. A series of 9 large bands, each with three large diamond shaped reserves inside which are crosses surrounded by protective hooked borders. Smaller protective diamond shapes and crosses fill in the space around each large motif. Bands of white with small crosses and diamond provide more protection. Hand woven of wool. Circa 1900. A rare antique Japanese Sakata Kasane Tansu (chest on chest) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original thick gauge hand made iron hardware with beautiful Chrysanthemum knobs on the lock plates. Constructed using thick solid Paulownia wood for the drawer fronts, the case was made using traditional dovetail joinery with all parts secured by hardened wooden nails. The top section features 2 side carrying handles on each side and both sections have side swivel handles for ease of carrying.

Composite panel of antique Ottoman embroideries, made into a rectangular shaped woman’s prayer cloth indicating qibla, the direction of prayer. Made in the Ottoman city of Salonika or Kavala.
