A German Saltglaze Bellamine. With crisply moulded mask and applied flower roundel. Germany E17thC. Height; 8 1/8" (20.5 cm). Condition;  chip to inside of lip otherwise excellent. With a very good glaze surface.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade rectangular lock on a carved wood stand with incised decoration on both sides. One side has four Chinese characters which read ¡°prosperity for entire family¡±; the other side is a peony design in the center with a garden scene around it. The jade is 3 ½ inches wide, 2 ¾ inches high (5 inches tall with stand) and ¼ inches thick. There is a chip on the corner of the stand. It is in excellent condition.

Big Song Dynasty 12th century covered box with a well known WW2 symbol on the cover. Low fired soft Porcelaneous ware with a jellowish white glaze. Very nice condition, some glaze corroded. D : 12 cm.

Beautiful 12 inch tall rose pattern signed “Locke Art” vase. The vase has a rayed pattern on the underside of the foot and an etched dentil pattern on the rim. The vase is 4 1/4 inches in diameter at the base and top while the main body is 2 7/8 inches in diameter. This rare form is in wonderful condition.

The three-drawer superstructure has a fold flap above two short and two long drawers on a molded plinth and small compressed bun feet. Dehua porcelain, more traditionally known in the west as Blanc de Chine, is a type of white Chinese porcelain, made at Dehua in the Fujian Province. It as been produced from the Ming Dynasty to the present day.

A very fine and unusual square plate. Arita 1790 - 1820. This fits into a group of porcelains that more accurately could be called ’white and blue’ produced at the end of the 18th century and beyond. This plate features exotic figures and an elephant. See the Shibata Collection, item 3831, for an octagonal plate of similar design.

Okimono sculpture in bronze of a crow perched on a tree stump in varnished wood. Its eyes are in shakudo.
In Japan, the crow (karasu) is a symbol of gratitude and family love. It is also considered as the divine messenger of good omen. The Kojiki (713) relates that the crow Yatagarasu guided the mythical founder of Japan, Emperor Jinmu (660-585 BC), on a military campaign to Yamato.

A Japanese Arita deep dish, early 19th century. The dish is decorated with Ho-o birds and branches of flowering paulownia. The back with clouds and bats and a single spur mark. The Dutch refer to this palette of red and gold on white porcelain as ‘Milk & Blood’.
