The snuff box is made with a mold in 2 parts. On the sides are two Buddhist lion heads in relief, their eyes are made by 2 small clay balls. stuck to the slip. The decoration is painted in underglaze cobalt blue, the design is vigorous and goes to the essential, it represents 2 dragons pursuing the sacred pearl in the sky, surrounded by clouds and sparks. Chinese agate girdle clasp, also called "sui" in Chinese. I am uncertain about the date of it, but do believe that it should be from Qing Dynasty or earlier. It is in good condition with russet streaks. 2-3/8" X 1-1/8" X 1/2".

This Taino engraved bone pendant has spectacular patina showing off its antiquity. It is 3 1/4" long. The holes are correct. The skull depiction is mesmerizing.

Chinese finial hat, known in Chinese as guanmaodi, done in repousse silver topped with a lion. A lage round agate bead, known as dingzhu is placed in the center, the middle has a cylindrical bead with repousse figures, and the base has a very pale jade ring. Age: 19th-20th Century. Size: 4" high.

Statue of Guanyu, the general of Liu Bei, which was transformed into the famous Guangong, the Taoist God of War. Guanyu is shown here in full military garb, with helmet and armor, sitting on an elevated throne. Votive box at the back, still closed. Antique Japanese rootwood hibachi with a lovely textural look and feel. It has a red and black lacquered cloth rim, and a bronze interior with an interesting patina with a layering effect.

Three gods of fire which are unglazed earthenware made of clay. Fire has been thought as sacred and gods of fire have been put near furnaces, cooking stoves (kamado) and open fireplace (irori) for protecting from disasters and uncleanness. This is cone number 576 from tomb number TT 295 for the scribe Paroy, also known as Djehutymose. The cone is wonderfully inscribed and detailed with clear glyphs. A nephrite Jian Ge(an accessory between the sword blade and the handle)decorated with Chi Longs. I am not sure about the date of this, but believe that it should be Qing or earlier. It looks like it was burned for some reason, caused some dark area on it. There are a couple of chips on it too, please refer to the photos for the details of condition. Length: 2"; Height:1".

Chogappo made of fragments of choma (ramie), one of bast fibers, which is recycled from white and dyed ramie textiles. Pojagi is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (choma or hemp) fragments. (Reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). Both warps and wefts are hand-plied for all fragments...

An antique Japanese Haribako (traditional tall neck sewing box) made of Kuwa (Mulberry), Kuri (Chestnut), and Kiri (Paulownia) woods. All original finish and hand made bronze hardware. The two upper drawers and the small drawer on the upper neck all have wooden sliding covers to protect the contents within. The hinged cover on the upper neck opens to a small recess where a pin cushion was kept. The center of the neck has a hole where originally a ruler called Shaku used to be held...

Shakudo tsuba with a relief decor representing foliage and flowers, with gilt highlights on a background of tiny dots. The tsuba is unsigned. Japan, late Edo period. Height: 7.2 cm. Very good condition despite a slight erosion all over the piece. Sold with its box.

Two double sided different pages of Persian Safavid poetry. 16th century. Some text faded but all readable. Gold sprinkled borders. The four sides have multicoloured cartouches of poetry interspersed with illuminated triangles in blue red and gold. Each leaf 18.5x11.5 cm. can be viewed in central London and shipped worldwide.

An antique Japanese Ranma (transom) made of Akita Sugi (northern Japan Cryptomeria) and Hinoki (Cypress) woods. The frame was finished in a black Urushi lacquer while the design was hand carved in relief on both sides. It depicts a scene of a male and female flying crane (each symbolizing 1,000 years of long life and together symbolizing a harmonious partnership) gliding through a forest of gnarly pine trees (symbolizing longevity).

This is a Japanese antique indigo dye cotton Shonai Sashiko noragi boro hanten jacket. A slightly thin indigo-dyed cotton cloth with two threads in one, and hand sashiko. Cotton cloth is a thin hand-spun cotton. It is an item around the end of the Meiji era. The shade of indigo dyeing is beautiful and it is a little thin, so it is ideal for wearing. A German goblet from the Potsdam area, of potash glass. The overly large funnel bowl, profusely engraved with flowers and leaves, sits atop a merise which in turn sits atop a huge teared and notched baluster knop. The merise is of triangular form which might be due to cutting to symmetrize a chip.

Excellent overall condition. 7 1/8" tall, 4 3/8" diameter bowl, 5" diameter foot.

A very ornate hand chased silver hip flask with a hinged rotating bayonet cap. Monogrammed on the cap, it also has the date 1892. There is a small dent on the cap. Measures 6” high x 3.5".

This porcelain covered box was produced in France by Tressemann and Vogt Limoges around 1900. The box was sold white-ware and painted by a studio artist. It measures 7 inches in diameter and is 3 1/2 inches high. There is a portrait of a lady in a fancy hat, surrounded by pink roses and raised gilding.
