Very nice Imperial Russian peacock blue pressed glass tea box. Glass tea caddies are difficult to find in this color. The design features fans, strawberry diamonds and Russian cane motifs. The box is bound with silverplated mountings and a lock. The box was almost certainly made by the “OtyM.F. Atelier”. Locked tea boxes were a holdover from earlier days when tea was a precious commodity that had to be kept safe from marauding servants.

This is a fantastic example of an ancient bronze mace head. This piece was part of a large collection of bronze weapons from the middle East. There are four radial spike protruding from the head. The socket is hollow and slightly flared near the bottom. There is a perforation for attaching the socket to a shaft. This piece weighs 222 grams and measures just under 10 cm. An extremely large, beautiful, and fine English wine glass, elegant in its simplicity. The bucket bowl sits above a stem of the double series opaque twist type, which has a pair of spiral threads outside of a central gauze.

Conical foot with a rough pontil. Good color and tool marks, with no condition issues. The height is 7 5/8", with a bowl diameter of 3" and a foot diameter of 3 3/8". Glasses of this size are quite uncommon in this period.

This opposing pair of brush pots is decorated overall with a design of objects from a scholar's studio including vases, incense burners, table screens, etc. Identical inscriptions in black enamel on each make reference to antique vessels and end with an artist's seal in red enamel. The enamels are in good condition without cracks or damages, nor any restorations. The interiors are enameled throughout in turquoise. The bottoms have a somewhat uneven turquoise enameling.

Very unusual 19th century netsuke in a shape of an old cherry trunk with a newly blooming branch. Extraordinary elegant design in Japanese taste, mother of pearl inlaid flowers with use of lacquer at their bases, excellent patina. Length 3.9 inches (99 mm).

This is a fine example of a plain bronze sword likely from Northwestern Iran, possible the Luristan culture. It dates to roughly 1000 BC. It measures an impressive 48 cm in length and weighs 356 grams. The only apparent damage is in what appears to be a broken tang. The break appears ancient as well. The rest of the sword is intact and stable. This is a good piece to add to your ancient weapon collection.

This is a very unusual, decorated bronze axe head from Northern Iran. I have not seen an axe of this exact type before. It has a reddish brown patina that is typical of earlier bronze or copper age pieces. The overall design and decoration is quite unique as is obvious in the photos. This piece weighs 276 grams and measures nearly 12 cm across. Such an unusual piece will not last long so don't miss it!

A pair of icon fragments done on wood with extensive gold highlights. They are both from the same icon, which, I believe, depicted the Four Evangelists. The painting is of exceptional quality, as the photos will hopefully confirm. While I believe that they in fact date to the 17th century, I am conservatively dating them to the 19th or earlier.
