Mid Edo period Hagi Chawan in the stylish shape of modest slight distortion. It is roughly coated in slightly glossy white slip and bears beside a wari-kodai (splitted foot) a fantastic 'landscape' on the inside.

But the highlight is the old gold restoration, a fantastic gintsugi (kintsugi) which makes our Hagi tea bowl so valuable and outstanding.

The guan yin is wearing a long robe, the surface shows a great patina and on the back you find the mark 'Da Qing Kang Xi Nian Zhi'.

Flat shaped and elegant modulated Korean Ido chawan from the mid Joseon Period (16-17 century). It is thinly coated with a creamy yellow glaze and very scenic drippings. Shape and form are inspired by the Buncheong Dynasty Gqey yl Chawans a period before.

Great antique condition with two spots of very old gintsugi (kintsugi) gold restoration, with impressing 'kannyu' (crackle) and a high density of 'keshiki' landscape...

The rim has cut in the shape of a hissen (fudearai - brush washing vessel), a shape very popular in the mid 17th century and found on shigaraki and hagi tea bowls in the Kobori Enshu style. The clay shows few impurities...

Cylinder shaped (hanzutsu) tea bowl made of light, fine, unrefined Mino clay from the late Momoyama or early Edo period. Shape and style (note the trimmed walls) make it appear contemporary with the late Oribe bowls. The expertly thrown body is covered with the typical white, feldspatic Shino glaze which has been poured and under which a decoration of a bamboo grass (sass) and a fence have been applied in iron oxide (oni ita)...

This well and thinly carved classic chrysanthemum bowl is fashioned from highly transparent agate. Probably dating to the Qianlong period, it was perhaps intended for court use as a wine cup, judging from its high quality carving, and its small and delicate form. Tiny crevices to the interior and pale clouding are natural to the stone. It is in good condition with no chips or restorations. It is accompanied by a later, though still antique, hard wood stand.
