A large drawn trumpet bowl leads to a double series opaque twist (dsot) stem comprised of a pair of heavy spiral threads outside of a central gauze. The bowl is engraved with a rising sun, a well-known masonic symbol. In all, this item has a wonderful and strong presence to it. Thick firing foot with a rough snapped pontil.

The glass is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, other flaws, or restoration. The height is 4 5/8", with a bowl diameter of 3" and a foot diameter of 2 3/4".

Offering this small unusual 18th century English wine glass with a trumpet bowl on opaque color twist stem with two spiral threads, red and white, over a vertical gauze. A rare French silver (950/1000 pure silver) tastevin from the reign of Louis XVI. This classic example features a classic design of angled “godrons” (grooves) accented with raised “perles” (pearls). The lack of deeply recessed “cupules” suggests that this wine taster was specifically intended for use with white wines. The center of the bottom has the expected tiny lathe mark where the vessel was raised from a solid block of silver...

A Georgian Silver Pint Mug by Hester Bateman and Hallmarked in London in 1784. The Overall Chased Design, While Sometimes Found on Bateman's Work, was Most Likely Added Later. While the mark is rubbed, it is clearly that of Hester Bateman. Dimensions; 5.5" high x 4" at base, weight 10 Standard/9.1 Troy ounces. excellent condition.
