A Grand Continental (German) Silver Tea & Coffee Set, with a total weight of 95.7 Troy ounces. The Tea Pot weighs 30.5 Troy ounces and is 9.5" high x 12.5" wide; the Coffee Pot weighs 26.9 Troy ounces and is 10.5" high x 10" wide; the creamer weighs 10.5 Troy ounces and is 6" high x 7.5" wide; the two handled sugar weighs 12.8 Troy ounces and is 6.5" wide x 6" high; the milk jug. The set is from the late 19th century. It is in excellent condition.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted bunch of pansies.

The maroon printed mark, "Ch.PILLIVUYT & Cie/PARIS/EXP 1867/MEDAILLE D'OR" is printed in a dotted oval under the base. Charles Pillivuyt was a well-established porcelain manufacturer...

Beautiful bronze and ivory sculptured figure depicting a young woman wearing a period dress with hat. One of her arms supports a parasol. The angled stance makes for a dynamic sculpture. Possibly Romanian.
The piece rests on an oval onyx pedestal.

Decorated Meissen Porcelain made in Dresden, Germany. The cup and saucer both depict a man and woman in 18th century garments in a garden. Flowers and decorative gold scroll line the rim of the cup and border of the saucer. The saucer is 4 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. Dimension: 10 1/4"

A Magnificent Victorian Silver Plate Cake or Brides Basket or Tazza, with a Swing Handle. Circa 1860-1880. Dimensions; 12.5" in diameter x 4" high x 11" to handle; 5.5" diameter at base; substantial weight 37 oz. Excellent condition (note that photos show reflections, the plating is in excellent condition). There is no maker's mark.

A faïence vase by Cantagalli with silverluster and blue decoration in the Hispano-Moresque or Ottoman style, c 1880-90. Ulysse Cantagalli, Florence, drew his inspiration from Arts and Crafts designers like William de Morgan, from Italian Renaissance and Islamic ceramics. Marked with the singing cockerel of the Cantagalli factory. Height "4 ¾ / 13 cm. Condition: mouth rim with two minimal glaze flakes, and a glaze burst near the foot rim (cf. pics).

A very nice pair of 19th century wooden Russian Easter eggs handpainted with traditional motifs. One egg is brightly painted with a maiden wearing peasant clothing and the traditional kokoshnik headdress. The reverse side is painted with the letters “XB” for Khristos Voskrese (“Christ Is Risen”). The other egg is painted with a scene of a peasant woman walking through a birch forest toward her log hut. This egg, too, is painted with “XB”...

This beautifully decorated Bohemian wine goblet is in the style of Josephinenhutte, ca. 1885, finely enamelel and gilt design of an oak leaf and acorn pattern framed with a stylized branch pattern below the bowl rim, colorless crystal bowl resting on a fluid green stem and leaf encircled foot. Measurement-8 in H; Bowl design is finely detailed with minor wear, wear to design and rim banding on foot.

A beautiful covered Bohemian goblet, with blue enameling, cutting, and engraved with roses and foliage, a true exhibition of decorative exuberance; 7 1/2" tall with cover, 5 5/8" tall without cover, 2 5/8" diameter bowl, 2 5/8" diameter foot

Circa 1870, brown transferware platter, Staffordshire Nanking pattern, by E. Challinor. In very good condition, there is some crazing commensurate with age and some staining, most notably on the back. Measures about 18 inches long, 14" high, and 1.5" deep. Hanger included.

A 'mirror' pair of antique 19th Century pottery greyhounds (each holding a hare) made in Staffordshire circa 1860 - 1870. Condition: excellent. 19cm (7.5 inches) high; 20cm (8 inches) long.

Wonderful Art Nouveau style 19th century silk hand-embroidery of a golden hair maiden (a bride?) holding a bouquet of pink flowers, framed within a lacy tree arbor and standing atop a blanket of daisies. Lovely pastel colors in soft shades of pink, green, blue and yellow make this piece feminine and serene. Unusual handmade frame with glass, front and back cut in a stylized V shape. The back of this piece continues the scrolly tree branch, centered with a pastel blue butterfly...

A Boxed Dessert Set, for Fruit or Cheese, by Joseph Deakin and Sons, of Sheffield, England. Silver plate with horn handles. The box is custom fitted. Circa 1890. Dimensions; box 11.5" x 9.5" x 2"; fork, 7", knife, 8". Excellent condition.

A Pair of Doulton Lambeth Candlesticks. The base is incised with the Doulton Lambeth Silicon mark. They are Clay colored with Applied Decoration in Cream and Light Blue. The height is 6.25" and they date from c. 1895. They are in excellent condition.

A striking oil on canvas rendering of Antietam Bridge done 24 years after the infamous Civil War battle. Signed at the lower right "J.A. Ashley 86"...

A finely detailed ornate mesh purse with handle. Made of 800 silver with a floral design around the clasp. The interior contains a unique mesh coin purse. One of the enlarged photos shows a small area under the clasp missing a hoop which we can easily repair if so desired. We can also polish the purse free of charge.

This is a wonderful collection of fine porcelain "biscuit" Monks. Made in Holland (The Netherlands) in the late 19 th. Century.

White Meissen porcelain with gold leaves on both saucer and cup. The gold is not chipped or worn away indicating that the cup and saucer are in great condition. The saucer is 5 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

A very unusual Bohemian zwischengoldglass liquor glass, the bottom featuring an inset gilt and enameled design of a ladybug. The panel cutting along the beaker’s sides causes the design to be visually repeated. Small beakers such as these are normally decorated with a flower. This is the only example we’ve seen with an insect. The ladybug traditionally symbolizes good luck, so perhaps that's why it appears here.

German Meissen porcelain cup and saucer. The saucer is 5 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

A Porcelain Armorial Plate made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, featuring the Weld Family Crest. It is marked "Weld" on the back and "Ovington Brothers, New York" (old Fifth Avenue Retailer). Dimensions; 9" in diameter x 1" high. Circa 1890 and in excellent condition.

Webb satin finish peachblow rose bowl, 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The bowl is cased in white with the exterior shaded from dark red at the top to a yellowish red at the bottom. The rim is crimped and edged in gold. The body of the rose bowl is decorated with gold prunus and a butterfly. There is a ground and polished pontil mark.

A Massive 5 Light Silver Plated Candelabra by Victor Silver Co.(part of Derby Silver Co., and merged with International Silver Co. in 1898), Shelton, CT. 1880's; The Weight is 72 ounces, height, 13.5" and the width 11.5". From the 1880's and in very good condition.

A very ornate hand chased silver hip flask with a hinged rotating bayonet cap. Monogrammed on the cap, it also has the date 1892. There is a small dent on the cap. Measures 6” high x 3.5".

Rare Georgian "Dear-Regard" ring set in 15K gold. The center motif of a flower is set with a "R"uby, "E"merald, "G"arnet, "A"methyst", "R"uby, and "D"iamond, the first letters of the stones spelling "Regard". The groups of stones on the cusps of the band are set with a "D"iamond, "E"merald, "Amethyst", and "R"uby, the first letters of the stones spelling "Dear". Historically the rings given as a token of love were either "Dearest" or "Regard". This ring is a combination of both sentiments.

Lovely 18K stone coral ring with 8 small diamonds. Five stone rings were classic Victorian forms. Our ring has smooth polished cabachon coral stones and ten small perfect flat cut diamonds at each corner. During Victorian times and earlier, coral was believed to have mystical properties and to ward off illness. The rose pink color was the most sought after. The ring is a size 8 and can be sized.

From our European Collection, a good late 19th century bronze figural inkwell, probably French.

Size and Condition: 9 inches wide, 5 1/4 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches deep. Some verdigris to the patina, the interior glass ink container liner has a small crack, and the inkwell lid does not fully close, though this can easily remedied with a competent repair. Still fine overall condition.

An attractive personalized glass paperweight by the Union Glass Co. The typical patriotic coloring is made up of the honoree’s name “John W Sullivan” in lampwork letters surrounded by a ring of red and blue lampwork flowers with small green leaves. As with all Union Glass weights, the crown is high and has very nice clarity. The glass is also quite heavy. The polished base is flat.

Origin: America, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, normal light scratches to surface, no chips or cracks...

A Mid-Victorian English Green Majolica Vase, with an Oriental Serpent Design; circa 1875. Dimensions 12" high x 5.5" wide. Excellent condition.

A wonderfully colored Wheeling Peachblow (AKA Coral) stick vase shown in the Hobbs, Brockunier and Co. Catalog as a #12 vase. The vase is in the glossy finish and measures 8 7/8 inches tall.

A cheerful Aesthetic Period sunflower card receiver with a cricket on the front and a dragonfly on the back. This silver plate receiver by Meriden Silver Plate Company of Connecticut dates late 19th C. Measures about 7 inches high.

A pair of unmarked Wave Crest “Daisy” salt shakers. The flat rims of the shakers are decorted with a dainty floral pattern and the undersides of the bases are embossed “Patented June 2 1891." The shakers are perfect and are 2 ½ inches in diameter.

24054902 A satin finish Wheeling peachblow number 13 stick vase in a lustreless finish by Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. of Wheeling, WV. The vase is 8 ½ inches tall and 3 1/4 inches in diameter. There are no imperfections.

This is a small and charming child's gameboard, measuring 13 3/4" long by 10 3/4" wide by 3/4" thick. It was found in Vermont, and most likely originated there. It is made of maple, with bread-boarded ends, affixed with square nails. The dry paint surface, with its red and black checkerboard, outlined with green stripes, is in superb condition, with no overpainting or areas of loss. The wood itself is in excellent shape, with 2 minor age cracks, and a knothole in the back which fell out...
