A Webster sterling sugar basket with a cobalt liner from around 1900. This attractive American sterling silver swing handle sugar basket has the original cobalt glass liner. The 3-3/8" diameter bowl stands 3-1/2" high (6-1/8" with the handle), it has the Webster maker's mark with STERLING and the 10400 pattern number and it has a lightly engraved Gothic lettering E.T.Y monogram on the top of the handle (not shown)...

Magnificent American Classical coin silver tureen. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1860. Curved ovoid bowl on stepped oval foot mounted to four beaded and round supports. Cover domed. German 800 silver and glass decanter, ca 1910. Flat and round bowl with cylindrical neck. Double-sided acid-etched landscapes with picturesque windmills, bridges, and houses. A small (4" by 2 3/4" by 2 3/4") tin box of the style common in the circa 1840's period in the northeastern states, the green and red hand painted design on the front remaining, but most of the other paint worn away----some remains in a few spots. These boxes, most larger than this particular example, likely held important papers or other keepsakes. They were made of tin and evidently were part of many households of the period. This example was purchased in Concord, New Hampshire...

Our marquis shaped 18K ring, carved in the shape of the pointed oval and emblematic of the gothic arch, has twelve old-cut rubies and a central cabochon opal accented with rose diamonds. The ring is a "marquis within a marquis" in the way the rubies form the outside border of another border of gold trim, which forms a marquis shape that encloses the cabochon opal and accent diamonds...

A large and rare antique, circa 1850, French casein tortoise shell casket with bronze ormolu framework featuring a working lock with key. The casein was applied over mahogany or rosewood creating a sturdy chest. Inside is the original silk lining perfectly intact. This chest is superbly crafted and very well preserved, there is just a little wear on the top and wear to the gold gilt on the bronze ormolu consistent with its age...

A spectacular and beautiful circa 1730 English silk embroidered apron front, exquisitely embroidered in polychrome silk and metallic threads with garlands and sprays of flowers urns. Scalloped edges are finished with embroidered metallic trim. A somewhat later but very similar example is shown in The Lotus Collection.

There are some scattered unimportant splits and very very minor and small spots of discoloration, all to be expected in such a delicate piece...

An extremely fine and rare friendship wine glass, or goblet, of Newcastle light baluster (NLB) type with its original cover, superbly engraved c1760 by Jacob Sang, the master engraver from Amsterdam. The flared round funnel bowl features a pair of clasped hands flanked by a pair of stylized cornucopiae and surmounted by a crown. Typical of Sang's work is the fine polished detail...

A George III Scottish Silver Sugar and Cream Jug by Francis Howden and hallmarked in Edinburgh in 1810. Bright cut engraved decoration. Gilt interior and reeded border. The marks are faint, but between the two pieces can be made out. Dimensions; creamer 8" x 4.5"; sugar 5.75" x 4.5"; weight 16.5 Troy ounces total. Excellent condition.

A pair of heavy Bristol wine glasses, peacock blue. Mouth blown and made around 1800 – 1810, the rim softly rounded. The pontil mark of one glass removed by grinding. Removal of the pontil mark was often done on lead “finer” glass (the lead allowed for cut designs). On the other glass the mark is deeper and so is still there, despite grinding. Height "4 ½ / 11.5 cm. Condition: fine.

A fine sweetmeat with a double ogee bowl with a slightly everted rim. The bowl is atop a bladed knop, below which is a hollow 8 sided molded pedestal stem. At the bottom of the stem are 4 merises above a nicely domed and folded foot.

The glass is in overall excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration. There is a small (1/4" by 1/8") manufacturing flaw in the side of the bowl, shown in extreme closeup in the 4th photo. The flaw can be seen and felt on both sides, but in not broken...

This porcelain pitcher was produced in England in the late 19th century. It is not marked but the type of porcelain and the style are indicative of Grainger Worcester. It measures 7 3/4 inches high and the diameter of the base is 3 1/2 inches. The porcelain has a high gloss glaze giving it an almost glass like finish. The ground color is salmon pink. Lovely Louis XVI style sterling silver fish slice. The elegant spade-shaped matte vermeil blade is engraved with the crossed quiver and torch design originally popular in the late 18th century. The blade and handle are marked by the maker, Pot & Cie., and the handle is marked with a French silver hallmark.

Origin: France, ca. 1890. Condition: very good; a bit of discoloration on the blade and very light wear on the handle. Size: 12-1/2" long.
