Offered is a lovely pair of late 18th Century, just after Dr. Wall Period, Worcester blue and white porcelain teabowls, in the Argument pattern. One teabowl has a small chip to the interior rim and a corresponding even smaller nibble on the outside in the same spot. The other teabowl appears to be free of damage, and has a crisper design as well. These are quite lovely. Each is graced with a Worcester mark of a number hidden within a design to appear vaguely Chinese...

Demitasse black and white coffee can and saucer by Bodley & Co in Staffordshire, c 1870. The pattern, numbered 3438, is of various whimsical silhouetted scenes – a charging officer and fusiliers, firefighting, dueling with walking sticks, an arguing couple, a fat guardsman etc. Impressed mark Bodley. The deep well of the saucer makes the ensemble into a “trembleuse” – a design that made it easier to move the cup from one place in the room to another...

A pair of octagonal dessert plates by Copeland, the edges dented and gilt. Japanised, “Aesthetic” decoration of brambles or blackberries, transfer printed and hand painted with some gilt over part of the withered leaves and berries. Diameter "9/ 22.8 cm. The back with the impressed curved mark used by Copeland from 1860 to 1880, and N80, probably for November 1880. Condition: fine.

Exuberant embossed and cast ornament with scrolling leaves and scallop shells contained by fluted frames. Fully marked including maker’s (Frank W. Smith) and retailer’s (Theodore B. Starr) stamps, no. 1334B, and volume (6 1/2 pts). Very good condition with deep patina.

One jaw ovoid and scalloped with ornamental piercing; the other a cast claw with five talons. A nice early piece in this pattern, which was first produced in 1897. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s (Shreve & Co.) stamps. Condition: Nice definition. Taut and springy.
