A faïence vase by Cantagalli with silverluster and blue decoration in the Hispano-Moresque or Ottoman style, c 1880-90. Ulysse Cantagalli, Florence, drew his inspiration from Arts and Crafts designers like William de Morgan, from Italian Renaissance and Islamic ceramics. Marked with the singing cockerel of the Cantagalli factory. Height "4 ¾ / 13 cm. Condition: mouth rim with two minimal glaze flakes, and a glaze burst near the foot rim (cf. pics).

Decorated Meissen Porcelain made in Dresden, Germany. The cup and saucer both depict a man and woman in 18th century garments in a garden. Flowers and decorative gold scroll line the rim of the cup and border of the saucer. The saucer is 4 inches in diameter and the cup is 3 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height.

This porcelain chocolate pot was produced in the US by Willets Belleek in the 1880s. This is a factory decorated piece. The pot measures 9 3/4” high and is 5 1/2” from handle to spout. The handle is shaped like a dragon that wraps around the pot. The body of the pot has a creamy ivory hue. It is hand painted with two colored gold. Some of it is shiny and some of it is matte finish. An exceptionally attractive transferware bowl in the Milanese Pavilion pattern having fruit and floral images around the rim while two elegantly attired ladies converse on the pavilion. The back stamp bears the J H & Co mark of Joshua Heath & Co and dates to c. 1840 While the bowl is visually magnificent, it has a 2 3/4" hairline crack for which we have drastically reduced the price and for which we would consider reasonable offers. A large and exceptional example of fine American tinsel or foil painting featuring a pair of pheasants on branches, surrounded by a wreath of flowers. The scene has the rare "snowflake" type of background. Although tinsel painting was at its height in America from 1850 to 1890 the snowflake technique appears to have been done primarily in the 1870's period.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted bunch of pansies.

From our European Collection, a fine and elegant 19th century bronze tazza, probably French, featuring well-cast leonine head motifs with twisted serpentine handles, supported upon a tapering circular pedestal base with some very attractive and realistically cast floral motifs. This piece has acquired a nice chocolate-brown patina across most of the surfaces.

Circa 1870, brown transferware platter, Staffordshire Nanking pattern, by E. Challinor. In very good condition, there is some crazing commensurate with age and some staining, most notably on the back. Measures about 18 inches long, 14" high, and 1.5" deep. Hanger included.

Rare Georgian "Dear-Regard" ring set in 15K gold. The center motif of a flower is set with a "R"uby, "E"merald, "G"arnet, "A"methyst", "R"uby, and "D"iamond, the first letters of the stones spelling "Regard". The groups of stones on the cusps of the band are set with a "D"iamond, "E"merald, "Amethyst", and "R"uby, the first letters of the stones spelling "Dear". Historically the rings given as a token of love were either "Dearest" or "Regard". This ring is a combination of both sentiments.

A very ornate hand chased silver hip flask with a hinged rotating bayonet cap. Monogrammed on the cap, it also has the date 1892. There is a small dent on the cap. Measures 6” high x 3.5".

Lovely 18K stone coral ring with 8 small diamonds. Five stone rings were classic Victorian forms. Our ring has smooth polished cabachon coral stones and ten small perfect flat cut diamonds at each corner. During Victorian times and earlier, coral was believed to have mystical properties and to ward off illness. The rose pink color was the most sought after. The ring is a size 8 and can be sized.

Webb satin finish peachblow rose bowl, 3 inches in diameter and 3 inches tall. The bowl is cased in white with the exterior shaded from dark red at the top to a yellowish red at the bottom. The rim is crimped and edged in gold. The body of the rose bowl is decorated with gold prunus and a butterfly. There is a ground and polished pontil mark.

An attractive personalized glass paperweight by the Union Glass Co. The typical patriotic coloring is made up of the honoree’s name “John W Sullivan” in lampwork letters surrounded by a ring of red and blue lampwork flowers with small green leaves. As with all Union Glass weights, the crown is high and has very nice clarity. The glass is also quite heavy. The polished base is flat.

A wonderfully colored Wheeling Peachblow (AKA Coral) stick vase shown in the Hobbs, Brockunier and Co. Catalog as a #12 vase. The vase is in the glossy finish and measures 8 7/8 inches tall.

From our European Collection, a good late 19th century bronze figural inkwell, probably French.

Size and Condition: 9 inches wide, 5 1/4 inches tall, 6 1/4 inches deep. Some verdigris to the patina, the interior glass ink container liner has a small crack, and the inkwell lid does not fully close, though this can easily remedied with a competent repair. Still fine overall condition.

A cheerful Aesthetic Period sunflower card receiver with a cricket on the front and a dragonfly on the back. This silver plate receiver by Meriden Silver Plate Company of Connecticut dates late 19th C. Measures about 7 inches high.

A pair of unmarked Wave Crest “Daisy” salt shakers. The flat rims of the shakers are decorted with a dainty floral pattern and the undersides of the bases are embossed “Patented June 2 1891." The shakers are perfect and are 2 ½ inches in diameter.
