A wonderful Victorian ironstone footed fruit compote decorated in an underglaze blue floral pattern. Distinctly Asian in flavor, the pattern depicts prunus blossoms and peonies surrounded by rocky outcroppings, foliage and hovering butterflies. The edges are finished in a diaper border. Either end has a leafy handle, heavily accented with gilding similar in style to that found on Old Paris porcelains. The overall shape and use of gilding suggests an early date. A very fine Chinese export porcelain basin with decoration in the Rose Medallion style. The interior bottom of the basin is divided into four quadrants, with alternating floral and courtyard scenes. The interior walls are likewise decorated. The everted rim is dcorated with floral reserves punctuating an allover floral pattern against a gilt background. The outer walls are decorated with simple sprays of peonies that echo the interior decoration...

A 7-1/2" German or Austrian porcelain hand painted figurine of a bugler. This mid to late 19th century figure features fine hand painting with gold, orange, blue, tan and realistic flesh colours; it is in a style similar to Heubach figures, but many European factories of this period were producing such figures, and it has a shiny rather than matte glaze...

An attractive Ridgways Chiswick pattern sauce tureen in the flow blue colour circa 1900. This 8-1/4" long and 5" high lidded two-piece English ironstone serving dish features dark blue flow decoration, it has the registry number 235284 (for 1894), and it is in very good original condition with no chips, crazing, losses, damage or repairs other than a tight and fully intact crack to the underside rim of the lid (see images)...

18th century Central European, ceramic dish painted under the glaze with raised floral motif. On the back of the plate is deep orange color under rich glaze.
CONDITION: chips on the rim, otherwise intact.

Rare Staffordshire child’s mug, creamware with green transfer decoration of sign language alphabet. Early 1800’s (small hole in bottom).

A delightful and very rare Staffordshire ironstone puzzle jug by Elsmore & Forster. The sides are decorated with colorful scenes of a cockfight below the lip, while the sides feature large images of the famed circus clown “Cashmore”. The foot, rim and handle are highlighted with red stripes. The interior has a hidden siphon system that causes the contents to spill when the jug is tipped, unless the pourer covers the small air hole on the inside of the handle...

This is a rare well modeled and detailed 19th century porcelain elephant by Samson. It is based upon an outstanding 1680 Japanese Kakiemon model, which, in turn, was derived from Chinese prototypes. The piece is eleven inches in height and is enameled in red and cobalt.

Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or repairs.

A Porcelain Armorial Plate made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, featuring the Jackson Family Crest. It is marked "Jsckson" on the back and "Ovington Brothers, New York" (old Fifth Avenue Retailer). Dimensions; 9" in diameter x 1" high. Circa 1890 and in excellent condition.

An Excellent Porcelain Armorial Inkstand or Deskset, made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, circa 1880. In a Rectangular Shape, with Two Inkwells, with Inserts. Dimensions; 10.25" wide x 7,75" deep x 3.5" high. In excellent shape, except for a slight chip on on of the inkwell tops (see picture). There is no mark on the underside, but it is definitely Samson, based on other items we have recently posted.

A wonderful and very desirable example of an 8-sided Lowestoft tea caddy, or canister. Painted with a flower bouquet and sprays beneath a border of flowerheads and foliate scrolls, the top having flowers and leaves.

The caddy is 3 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter, and is in superb condition, with no cracks, chips, or restoration. The only tiny blemish of any type is a 3/16" long glaze split at the top of the rim, clearly occurring during manufacture...

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England between 1800 and 1815. It has no mark from the manufacturer but it may have been made by Minton or Coalport. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The shape of the cup is known as a bute shape. The porcelain has a slightly grayish tinge to it. It is not pure white like the bone china produced in later years in England...

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Doulton before 1920. The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with swags of tiny rose buds. The surface of the cup and saucer is covered with tiny pale green enamel beads reminiscent of Coalport. There is gold trim on the handle and rims of each piece. There is some wear to the thin gold band around the bottom of the cup...

This demitasse cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in France by Haviland Limoges before 1900...
