This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in France in the late 19th century. We believe it was produced by a Paris manufacturer who used a faux Sevres mark on it. The saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is very delicate and translucent. The cup is molded with melon ribs, has a scalloped rim and a fancy handle. A very nice blue and white Chinese export porcelain plate in the Fitzhugh pattern. The central reserve is surrounded by a complimentary design in the four quadrants, all enclosed in a diapered border. The blue color is very intense and the porcelain body has a good, clear white color. The execution of the painted design suggests that the plate dates from the first quarter of the 19th century.

The group of small porcelain items known as "toys" is composed of scent bottles, bonbonnieres, etuis, and seals. This thinly potted superb example is of vertical faceted form with a double C-scroll handle with a raised thumb rest, and is painted in blue in the Prunus Root pattern. From our European Porcelain Collection, a fine French Niderviller neoclassical-style porcelain saucer, heavily potted, late 18th century circa 1774-1784. This saucer is executed en grisaille in very fine detail of a sleeping cupid, rendered against a very dark cobalt blue ground that almost appears black. The border is richly gilded, and the reverse contains markings that stand for Count Philibert de Custine, who owned the Niderviller factory during this time period.

A spectacular Chelsea porcelain covered porringer. This wonderful piece is profusely decorated, even on the inside of the bowl, with butterflies, moths, other insects, and flowers. A veritable rainbow of colors was used in the enameling. The finial on the lid is a naturalistically molded rose with hues of reds and pinks, and the handles are painted with a distinct bluish green. The underside has the Chelsea red anchor mark and displays the stilt marks indicative of Chelsea.

This porcelain covered box was produced in France by Tressemann and Vogt Limoges around 1900. The box was sold white-ware and painted by a studio artist. It measures 7 inches in diameter and is 3 1/2 inches high. There is a portrait of a lady in a fancy hat, surrounded by pink roses and raised gilding. A row of turquoise beads accents the rim of the lid. The bottom half is colored forest green. It has a lovely, Victorian appearance. Condition: Excellent

A stunning Chelsea-Derby tea bowl and saucer, finely painted in puce monochrome with scattered floral sprays and sprigs, reserved on a ground of closely packed gilded spirals. The interior of the bowl is painted with a puce rose and leaves. Both pieces are marked with a gold anchor.

Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or restoration. Minor gilding wear to the extreme rim edges. The height of the bowl is is 1 7/8", and the diameter is 3 1/8", while the saucer diameter is 5".

A very unusual James Pennington bowl with a shaped rim. The painted scene depicts oriental buildings, with the reverse showing rockwork and a variety of odd trees. The interior rim of the bowl has a blue border with stylized flowers or fruit.

Unique and bold Raku influenced Kyogenhakama chawan by Nyoitera Haryo of the Nyoisanzin temple kiln and possibly dating to the late Edo or Meiji period. This Raku influenced chawan exhibits a generous form flanked by a series of circular impression over which a Raku glaze that has transmuted to a wide range of colors. It is a striking pot and would be a welcome addition for any collector or tea ceremony practitioner.

A beautiful Dr. Wall First Period Worcester coffee cup and saucer in the Jabberwocky pattern, one of the most sought after polychrome patterns done by Worcester. Both the cup and saucer are fluted, placing it in the earlier period of this pattern. The color palette used includes turquoise, reds, deep blue, greens, and rich gilding.
